Is it me or did Gary Neal look faster than everybody else on that sprint? Maybe it wasn't a big deal or anything, just something I noticed. It's also nice to see Tim hitting free throws. And my God I like McDyess' attitude. If he isn't a Spur I don't know who is. No wonder everybody seems to have wanted that guy on their team in years past.

Credit to the media for asking Pop about the backup SF spot. It's something we want to know about.

It's not his to concede, and dice would rather come off the bench anyway. He has said so multiple times.

But I cant wait to see what Splitter is bringing to the table. :)

He was ahead of everyone else in frame. I'd imagine your time running horses is proportional to your likelihood to make the roster.

He and George Hill outran everyone else but they were just going full speed and some of the others weren't hustling quite so much.

After the long Summer, these videos were a hell of a tease. The team looks great. Loved Manu's dunk over the paddle guy and then joking about it. During the Dice interview I was just thinking he should have been a Spur a long time ago. Great attitude. Loved how he said the team is going to surprise some people.
So psyched.

Nice to have the confirmation that Simmons isn't on a guaranteed deal. Given Spurs financial constraints, they will likely carry only 13 players. If Temple is kept, Simmons and Gee will fight for the last roster spot.

I liked Pop keeping the door wide open for the backup SF spot and not handling this spot to someone before the start of the training camp.

im not a big fan of gee, he looked okay in the summer league. He has good hops and can dunk though. I hope simmons has a something left in him. He had that nasty up and under post move that was very impressive in the highlight video someone posted, his three point FG% is impressive. Im not sure about defense gee vs simmons though.

I notice Tony is wearing the Power Balance plastic wristband popularized by Lamar Odom last year. I wonder if he'll be wearing it throughout the entire season?

Does anyone know the name of the Spurs equipment manager? I'd love to have that job even if you've gotta deal with sweaty socks and jerseys.

Also, I see that someone other then Timmy will be rocking adidas this season. Maybe, Timmy can hook James Anderson up with some fresh P.E.'s?

And in the pump fake jumper drills RJ is the only one who shoots without his feet underneath him. I have concerns.

Re Blair, I think the guy is just real shy and doesnt like talking to the press much. Hey, if he plays like he did last year I dont care if he never talks to the press again. Re Dice, he's got a touch of Gervin in him. Very cool, smooth, doesnt sweat the small stuff.

Inks hardly even dry on his new 40,000,000 contract and the half-assing has already started. :rolleyes

Temple looks really small for his listed height of 6'6"; I think maybe he's only 6'4" with shoes (6'3" w/o).

mingus
09-30-2010, 10:48 AM
If RJ isn't improved over last year, it's going to be a long year. without much improvement from him, it'll be a repeat fo last year. Spurs need the 4th scorer to be at the SF position and he's probably the only one that can fill that role, unless Anderson plays a lot better than expected.

i don't think i'll be able to watch Spurs games if i don't see a better-adapted RJ. if he's doing the same shit as last year (very inconsistent, bricking threes, bricking ft's, missing rotations, being soft, not shwoing commitment to hitting the boards) i literally will not watch the Spurs this year i'll be so damn disgusted that they gave him that contract for nothing.

He was already overpaid, now he's historically overpaid and has security, but it was a really really good deal for the Spurs, just ask them.
