Ariel Helwani at Versus.com is reporting that Jose Aldo will defend his UFC featherweight championship in the co-main event of UFC 125 against Josh Grispi.

Grispi (14-1 overall, 4-0 WEC) will likely pull out of his Nov. 11 WEC 52 fight with Erik Koch.

Helwani also is reporting that UFC officials have confirmed heavyweight Roy Nelson is now off the card entirely after opponent Shane Carwin was forced to bow out due to injury earlier this week.

http://www.mmaforreal.com/2010/10/29/1782306/report-aldo-grispi-to-meet-for-ufc-featherweight-title-at-ufc-125

+1 for Aldo on the card but -1 for Nelson being off the card, he is one of my favorite fighters. Hopefully he gets to fight at UFC 126 (or earlier).

UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo Out of UFC 125

UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo has withdrawn from his UFC 125 co-main event bout with Josh Grispi.

Sources close to the event notified Heavy.com of the news this afternoon.

A compacted vertebrae was causing tingling in Aldo's arms.

Update (From Josh Gross): Revise Aldo's "out" to the fight's in "jeopardy." Aldo just told his management he will fight regardless. I'm not so sure that happens.

Lightweight Championship bout: Frankie Edgar (c) vs. Gray Maynard -- Edgar is the real deal, I can't wait to watch him and Pettis go at it.
Middleweight bout: Chris Leben vs. Brian Stann -- Stann is a bitch, and if I have to hear about his military service one more damn time, I might pooh.
Light Heavyweight bout: Brandon Vera vs. Thiago Silva-- Fuck it, I'm going with Vera.
Welterweight bout: Nate Diaz vs. Dong Hyun Kim -- I loath this shit dick, but he's still a stud, and I fucking hate Kim.
Lightweight bout: Clay Guida vs. Takanori Gomi -- WAR GOMI!

*Edit to change faggot Silva to Vera.

Lightweight Championship bout: Frankie Edgar (c) vs. Gray Maynard
- Edgar vs Pettis will be one hell of a fight! Hope Edgar proves a point and turns Gray's shit talking face into hamburger meat.

Middleweight bout: Chris Leben vs. Brian Stann
- Stann's strong and smart, but Leben's a human energizer bunny.

Light Heavyweight bout: Brandon Vera vs. Thiago Silva
- Silva is no Bones Jones, Vera will kick the shit out of him.

Welterweight bout: Nate Diaz vs. Dong Hyun Kim
- Tough fight to call, but Diaz is head hunting for high profile fights and Kim's next.

Lightweight bout: Clay Guida vs. Takanori Gomi
- I'd like to see Gomi get a win, but Guida will stay on top for long enough to win the decision. Gomi's too dangerous to keep standing, Clay's won't let him up.

Lightweight Championship bout: Frankie Edgar (c) vs. Gray Maynard
Going with the Champ here. Yes he lost to Maynard before but Frankie is a different fighter now, he's really hitting his stride in all areas i think. This should be a battle though. I expect it to go 5 with both guys having their moments. Frankie will outpace him by decision..

Middleweight bout: Chris Leben vs. Brian Stann
Stann is tough and dangerous, trained by Greg Jackson. Could go either way but i expect a stand up battle and Leben usually wins those so i go Leben by KO or decision..

Light Heavyweight bout: Brandon Vera vs. Thiago Silva
I've been suckered in by Vera one time too many. Silva better kick his ass and get him outta the UFC already.. Sucks because I used to be a fan of him but he never delivers in big fights..

Welterweight bout: Nate Diaz vs. Dong Hyun Kim

"I for sure did not give Mr. Jones the respect that he deserves," Vera said. "I remember thinking when I was underneath him. I remember being off in my own world while he was throwing elbows and missing. I was holding his wrists and thinking, 'Geez. Really? All the hype was about you? This is what you have to offer on the ground? Really?' And I remember thinking, 'You [expletive] suck,' but before I finished the word 'suck,' the elbow came down on my face and smashed my face.

"That's when I realized right then and there. I said, 'That's what you get you bastard. That's what you get for thinking you're so ahead of the game.' For sure I didn't respect him the way I should have. That was a hard lesson to learn, but I promise I learned that one."

I stick by my prediction that Vera kicks Thiago's legs out. It's either FoTN or a leg kicking snooze fest but Vera will win.

These guys put so much into training that when you underperform it kills you. He has a lot to be proud of tonight. Fought his ass off and kept the belt. He'll beat Gray in the rematch. does Pettis get his shot or is it an instant rematch for Gray

Instant rematch, but Gray's acting like it's a Machida/Rua robbery. The best possible outcome for Gray was a draw (he didn't do enough to win a 5 round fight and take the title from Frankie), and its only because of the 1st round. Frankie pushed the pace and offered the more dynamic offense throughout the next 4 rounds.

I was a Frankie hater for a bit, but after seeing him face the scariest 155 Champion ever, TWICE, and then face the guy that bullied him for his only loss...it's incredible and I hope we get to see him against Pettis. In fact, I wish there was no rematch w/ Maynard and the UFC just capitalized on Pettis ESPN/MTV fame and put him against Frankie next. Pettis sells more PPVs than Maynard and offers a real 5 round fight than just outpointing his opponent.

Details Emerge On Thiago Silva's UFC 125 Urine

According to NSAC executive director Keith Kizer they originally flagged Silva’s first sample and began testing on a second submitted sample. Once the second sample was analyzed the result was the same. The test came back as “inconsistent with human urine”.

The second sample was tested by the Sports Medicine Research Testing Laboratory which is one of the highest regarded labs in sports PED testing and is accredited by the World Anti-Doping Agency.

Their report concluded that Silva “submitted an adulterated and/or substituted specimen for testing for the urinalysis."
