Most attended sport on earth per million people. The grand final was last week and it was a draw which means they have to come back again a week later and play again. I know of some Americans who have seen it on ESPN, any of you blokes know much about it.
Heres the highlight of the game in front of 100,016 people. Most amazing atmosphere I've ever experienced.

Anyone who has any interest in sports and athleticism should Youtube some AFL highlights. Amazing.

I've seen a few games, it was interesting. Seems like there's about 50 guys on the field at once.

It's physical so I think we would like it if we played it. But we don't. So we don't care.

grand final was last week, result was a draw game

so they play againj today grand final match 2....if its a draw game again they will play extra time 10min halves or someshit

last week the organization itself racked in 19m from just ticket sales for the finals game.

out of the sports +100 yr history theres only been like 3 draw games in the grand final, so they dont think they should change the rules for extra time in draw finals game cause the chances of that happening again is low...then again i loss a bet with a few friends, shouldve taken the draw and wouldve gotten free massage expenses paid from each person overseas

It really, really is. For me, it combines some of the best elements of soccer, football, and basketball. The physicality of the game is second to none--have no doubt Americans would love it over here if it got more exposure. :toast

Love love love the AFL but it's hardly televised here anymore. Prime sports or whatever it was in SA in the early 90's used to show an AFL game of the week in the summer when school was out on Monday afternoons or something. I had EA Sports AFL 99 for PC back in the day... I think they made a US console version once (98 maybe) but they only made them yearly for the Aussie region... similar to the Rugby games... they only made them in the US region for a couple of years and it was PS exclusive.

Anyway, all the AFL games made me almost sign up for Setanta Sports (the exclusive AFL carrier here until they folded) but the $20 a month fee or whatever it was was too steep. At least ESPN3 was carrying a few of the games every weekend. I think ESPN2 was even showing the games live on Sat nights (like 11pm or something) earlier this summer when there was nothing else on to show since only baseball was in season.
