I searched, and it blows my mind grapes that there's not already a 30 Rock thread. For all the shows that have started to completely nosedive the last couple seasons (RIP The Office), 30 Rock stays consistently hilarious.

Season 5 has, atleast 2 episodes in, been no exception...

Pete - "You can't say anything to him!"
Liz - "Are you KIDDING me?!"
Pete - "If you do, he'll take it out on TGS -- on us! I'll be here, waiting on edits 'till four in tha morning when I SHOULD be a Home...which is the name of the bar I found near the train station!"

30 Rock is still funny and worthy of watching, but I have become a little disillusioned with it lately. I feel like they have painted themselves in a corner with a lot of the jokes. While Tracy is so random he will always be funny, other characters are just way too one-dimensional.

I am particularly sick of the Liz food jokes. Taking plates out of her bathroom? I can laugh at that in the 1st episode of the season but as it wears on, I get sick of those jokes. They have admitted to her eating in the bathroom, in her sleep, in her bed, everywhere but the kitchen, really. Where else do they go? Is she going to eat in the grave? Cus that's the only thing left!

You said "RIP The Office" and though they have been a bit hit or miss lately, I give them way more proprs than 30 Rock. They are not afraid to take risks, to put the characters out of their comfort zones and shake things up, unlike 30 Rock, where none of the characters have had any growth or stretching. After five seasons, 30 Rock needs some new material. Still funny, but not nearly as much as it used to be.

Admittedly, I was late to the party, so I can certainly understand if someone that's been there since or near the beginning may see something I don't. The jokes still seem fresh to me, seeing as how I was only turned onto 30 Rock about a year ago.

What I like about this show is that there's no real story. No romantic entanglements. I like it for all the reasons I used to HATE Seinfeld. Not sure what's changed in me that I can now appreciate a show like this, but...[shrug]

I don't really think I'd like any of these characters "taken out of their comfort zone", so to speak. I like each character for what they bring. I had no idea Alec Baldwin was this funny, but he's quickly become my fuckin hero.

Tracy Morgan/Jordan on Cash Cab was awesome/genius... one of the greatest things I've seen in a while.

It's over.

One of the smartest-written tv shows of all-time. Gonna miss it.
