Why is it some people around here pretend Blair has no post game? He clearly does.

We're spoiled by Timmy and his endless bag of tricks. You have to admit that Blair's O game lacks variety. He works with what he's given though, which is almost always feeding off of Manu or offensive boards.

And this is one of the classic examples of when Pop didn't properly unleash the Beast this past year. When Blair is on like that, Pop needs to ride his ass into the ground. He played every single game last year, so he is a durable guy.

I think most educated spurs fans realize that blair is great on offensive end of the floor, its the defensive side of the ball that blair has his critics...

Bonner beasted all over the Celtics in Boston a couple of years ago, and didn't get this kind of hype. What gives?

I love the guy he just always seems so out of control,, it amazes me when some of his shots go in.

He has good instincts around the basket, but I don't think his offensive skills are refined and dependable yet. Most of those points were putback and rolling to the basket, which is obviously awesome, but I don't think he's a player you call iso's for yet. Hopefully that's soon to come.

I used to think the same thing about Tim's shots in his prime. Many of his shots looked like he was just chucking up some garbage at the rim, but they found bottom time and time again.

Not a knock against his fundamentals (he is the Big Fundamental, after all). Just a sign of a soft touch and a good knack for scoring around the basket. Some guys have to train to learn to shoot the ball. Other guys just seem to know how to put the ball in the hole by instinct.

Man, I had forgotten how much talent Blair has at getting the ball in inside.

Thanks for the post Op!

I wouldn't count on it. Not saying it won't happen, but (unless you count Gist) he's at the bottom of the totem pole as far as bigs go. Last year he had Mahinmi and Ratliff behind him, this year those guys are gone and the Spurs added Tiago Splitter, who is automatically placed above DeJuan.

It makes for a fairly skilled, and experienced group of 4/5s, but something's gotta give minute wise, and regarding DeJuan the most I'll hope for (minute wise) is that he'll gain a few of Dice's minutes in the RS, and then trade them back during the playoffs. But, maybe Pop will fall out of the habit of overusing Bonner...finally.

i disagree w/ your first statement this is the order in which i view pop calls on from first to last the first 4 are just as equally important
1. tim duncan well cmon u know
2.tiago splitter (no not dice! dice is old and even though hes great 4 us pop needs to save him and let tiago learn he said so himself time for twin towers to re emerge)
3.dejuan blair i think because his experience/durability and what talent he has period! his natural talent and REb is Amazing!
4.antonio mcdyess hes super important so much so that hes so old we have to keep him fresh not a big deal with tiago
5 bonner i think bonner is a heck of a specialist and a a dice/tim saver when needed to. hes just there to play a position hes no force thats for damn sure

I can't help but :lol every single time I think about the Spurs getting gifted a player like this in the 2nd round.

It is really ridiculous. Even if he were to never play another game, it was worth the risk for his talents.

What was his body fat % his first year of training camp?

I think I read 15%. I also read that he didn't lose any weight either and is still the same as last year so he's turned that fat into muscle.
