Howdy folks, new to this forum and realized that there isn't a "Introduce yourself" board so I figured I'd do it here.

I've already broken the ice with some posters here.

A few things every poster should know about me:

1) I love the game and love talking ball
2) Basketball 1st, Lakers 2nd, players/personnel 3rd
3) I can come off quite frank and objective at times
4) I respect posters who have a realistic view on the game

Hope you like the color pink.

Welcome aboard tbone!

Your views also reflect my own. People who can't put the game of basketball first, above team and players are easily dismissible as feeble minded homers.

Hopefully there will be a few good posters here who can prove that not all Spurs fans are delusional fan boys or just straight trolls like Chump dumper. He's been following me around like a lost puppy for days now; classic troll tactic.

5) I will call a spade a spade...

Then why come in here acting like you are a spade when, in truth, you are a club?

This was your second post in SpursTalk as tbonewalker. You list the Spurs as your team and you initially used the word "we" when speaking of the Spurs:

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/478857-san-antonio-spurs-2010-expect-their-western-conference-ride-to-be-rough

I made a previous thread on many of the points the author presents..

Among them:

- Teams will continue to go at Tony and George :bang

- Spurs fans will panic after another disappointing season for their beloved team.:downspin:

- In the playoffs, the Spurs starters failed in a miserable manner to contain the Phoenix bench, led by 6’4” shooter and disher Goran Dragic. :lol

- Head coach Alvin Gentry out dueled Popovich in their chess match:lmao

- Everyone will blame the Spurs demise this season on Duncan’s age, but the fact is that the Western Conference is bigger and better :ihit

- Phil Jackson would love to cause the Spurs’ to rebuild. :fishing

Will we ever address our weak points? Or will we continue to cover the holes with cheese?

You have 0 cred.

Bozo? Chill out, ohm. :smokin

Because I laid out a few facts about the Spurs back court defensive deficiencies? Because I reminded the board about Pop getting outcoached by Alvin Gentry?

If you spent as much time looking into the points I brought up in that thread as you did attacking the messenger, you'd be on base and we could discuss those points like basketball fans without agendas.

I'm not going to point the finger at you alone but there are many team first fans here who have an agenda to pump up anything and everything about their team with homer glasses on. Don't be one of them, and you'll "like" me.

The only posters who have ever had a problem with me on any forum are team first fans who will disagree with another team fan at all costs even if they agree deep down.

I add objective value and soon enough, if you give it a shot, you'll find out for yourself.

A harmless joke? It got locked, I'm guessing because it was posted in the wrong board. Maybe should have thrown that on the NBA board, but if that was the case then the Mod would have simply moved it there.

Thing about the internet is that some people take things too seriously. Some people have a very hard time deciphering tone through a post. I was half expecting more people to participate and offer scenarios as to why Spurs would carry lighters.

I'm cool as a cucumber, bro.

What can I say my team got beat by the Suns. Pop struggled with finding answers to stop the Suns' pick and roll. The Spurs gave Dallas their best shot and didn't have the juice to match-up with a faster team not only defensively, but offensively as well. Ginobili had a gigantic bandage on his face, Parker struggled with nagging injuries, G-Hill was hurt in Dallas, Duncan took big shots to his knee in both series and there were guys who struggled to find their place on the team all year (Bogans, Jefferson, Mason). The Spurs got beat. Plain and simple.

Join us in the present, friendo.

I haven't seen anything objective yet, but I'm still waiting. You still come off as a major Lakers fan and I'm having a hard time buying into the "basketball first" mantra that you are trying to pass off. Your opinions are verbatim Laker fanboy rhetoric and we've heard it all before. Bring the new shit, or shut the fuck up.
If you were truly objective you wouldn't be entirely negative in your evaluation. Let's see some real objectivity and less thinly veiled Laker nut nuzzling and then, maybe, I can start to consider taking you seriously.

Don't "you guys" pump the Spurs up enough? It's got to be healthy to have somebody like me point out the areas where the Spurs are defficient. What the heck does slobbering over the Spurs all the time do? Nothing besides raise or keep expectations at a high level which will inevitably lead to disappointment.

I have plenty of positive opinions on the Spurs.

Actually, most of the posters here are very analytical and critical of the Spurs. We only tend to rally the troops when some bandwagon Laker fanboy comes in here waving his dick around shouting, "Look at me and my tiny pecker! Spurs suck!".
If one is truly objective, they will analyze positives and negatives to come to a reasonable conclusion. I don't see you doing that.

So they taught an orangutan how to play a guitar. They also taught one to fight in those Clint Eastwood movies.

Your point?

Actually Mike Bloomfield was one of the best guitar players who ever lived, and taught Bob Dylan had to play the blues. Bloomfield was the lead guitarist for "Like a Rolling Stone." Ever heard of it? So if that is in fact Bloomfield in that original pic then, yeah, that's an epic fail on your part for trying to flame the board with it. Sorry brah, you've been owned. Try to save face how?

If that's you, you're an ugly motherfucker.

And if it is Mike Bloomfield, I'm not a fan, so I couldn't care less if I recognized him or not.

Oh, and I know enough about pop music history to know that Stevie Ray Dead is the most overrated guitarist of all time.

Try listening to some real Blues: Son House, Mississippi Fred McDowell, Blind Lemon Jefferson, etc, etc, instead of monkeys who were taught how to play the guitar by their circus handlers.

That's just ignorant, but that's why you're a Spurs fan...see, I can draw unrelated correlations to sweeping generalizations too! yay!

Thorogood is a turd I'll grant you, but to call SRV soulless is just plain fucking stupid. Sure, he's overrated by a lot but making statements like that just hurts your credibility. And just b/c you know some earlier blues music, it doesn't make you special.

Just b/c somebody was the first to do something it doesn't mean they were the best at it. Different genres of music have been integrated and redone in better ways by various artists. You may not like something, but you still can appreciate (or understand) what makes it good. For instance, I don't like San Antonio...I thought there brand of basketball was extremely boring to watch, but I could appreciate their defense and playoff mettle (something you are unable to reciprocate to the Lakers). Just b/c you don't like something it doesn't mean it sucks and is soulless

Fair enough, i thought you were just being a blind hater. His live at montreux performance was pretty damn good imo. Are you one of those purists that hates studios and synth and all that jazz (no pun)? Not hating, just curious.

Good music is good music, and new and different technologies adversely affect it for better or worse. Some people still hate Dylan for going electric and that shit was 45 years ago...

I prefer a minimal, down home, atmospheric style of Blues, rather than the kind of guitar masturbation that characterizes such artists as SRV. I like dirty, crunchy, grimy blues. For modern Blues musicians, these are some of my favorites:

Compared to the blues I listen to, Stevie Ray Dead might as well have a studio sheen to his music. I like juke joint type of Blues. Not the stadium style (and yes, I know he played to relatively small audiences) Blues that SRV puts out. To me, SRV is the kind of Blues a yuppie listens to feel hip.

Um, when most of my Stevie Ray Vaughan listening experience came by way of Texas Flood, a studio album, then how am I off base in describing his music as having a "studio sound?" And I'll take back the term "manufactured." That was incorrect. Let's replace it with "generic."

And his live performances didn't captivate me enough to jump on his bandwagon.

Sure it is. Only in the mind of a mookie crew cuckold.

Fact is you got butthurt because I talked shit about "Texas Legend" Stevie Ray Vaughan.

yes SRV is badass but I could care less what some laker queer thinks about him. I'm mainly interested in your, and others', habit of talking about music like it is some sort of advanced subject. Knowing so much about a subject that there is so little to know about is really funny. Pretty gay hobby to have imvo

Laker queer? Lol. If you were half the troll you think you are, you'd recognize the irony in my avi and signature, which features perennial underachiever Elden Campbell and a dumb fuck Cholo Laker fan, respectively.

And me saying that I find SRV's music to have a "Vegas Lounge Act" quality would appear advanced to a member of the "mookie crew," when in fact, it's a very easy to understand analogy.

For god's sake, you dolts can recite Robocop 2 verbatim, so I'm not surprised music discussion would seem "gay" to you.

I don't act like a Lakers fan, actually.

My avi and sig are done with the intent of insulting Lakers fans.

I do not see sigs and avatars on my phone.
midnight pulp just sounds like a lakerfan name to me for some reason and all this yuppie talk about "oh my musical taste is more advanced than yours for these reasons" (lol) made me think you were from sissy lala land

I actually never said that. I simply said that I do not like Stevie Ray Vaughan's brand of blues. Try to keep up.

Um, so Keith Moon doesn't have any music cred because he doesn't play a certain instrument?

Great logic, MissPego.

Lol butthurt because I dissed Stevie Ray Vaughan, but is pathetically trying to cover up his bleeding ass by calling me a music snob.

Deal with it, mouthbreather. I don't dig SRV.

Not really. Deadly and Shaolin seem to have pretty good taste in music. I differ with them on SRV, but even if Shaolin is a Laker fan faggot and one who would sell his obese wife to a band of cannibals if meant an opportunity to give Kobe Bryant a blowjob, I wouldn't consider a guy with a Johnny Thunders avi to have inferior taste than myself.

Now his taste in professional basketball teams is a different matter entirely.

Go back to making fun of ugly babies, taking pictures at odd angles, and cuckolding a Mookie/CBF fuck session.

Those are your areas of expertise. This, however, is not.

And yes, yes, I know. He's technically great, blah, blah, blah. I'm not a guitar player, so I couldn't care less about his proficiency. I listen to music instead of intellectualize it, and Stevie has never stirred me.

His live performances are what set him apart from any other glorified saloon singer. Am I SRV "fanatic" no but I can recognize talent when I see it 15 ft away from me. Imo, his brother is 'better' than he is (Jimmie) when it comes to straight blues.

I was lucky enough to see him play few times and he never came off "generic". He was running through 2 DUMBLE AMPS that were built specifically for him, so wouldn't really call it generic.

That's fine he never 'stirred' you, thats not what we were talking about.

You took this topic towards SRV, lol.

Because you thought I was Mike Bloomfield.

You're playing dumb, right? How do you NOT know who Keith Moon is, even if you're just a casual classic rock fan...

Howdy folks, new to this forum and realized that there isn't a "Introduce yourself" board so I figured I'd do it here.

I've already broken the ice with some posters here.

A few things every poster should know about me:

1) I love the game and love talking ball
2) Kobe 1st, Lakers 2nd, players/personnel 3rd
3) I can come off quite frank and subjective at times
4) I respect posters who have a realistic view on the game

I had to fix this for you
