That's b/c you don't form your own opinions. Kobe is tougher than Ron by the way; Ron is just the "scariest black guy" in the league. Oh and that's physically btw. Kobe Bryant played through multiple injuries the past two seasons, but he was also whining about his teammates, asking to be traded (putting him on the same mental toughness level as Melo), and "mysteriously" disappearing when his team needed him the most (i.e. the suns series before Gasol was traded, and the finals the year of the Gasol trade).

If there was a category for "Best leader WITHOUT being a douchebag" Tim would win, however Kobe antagonizes his way to the top of the leadership rankings imo (and since he's won so much its hard to argue with the method, too much), and finally beating the Spurs in the post season doesn't determine Steve Nash's leadership ability.

Also, I know Durant has the height of a PF but as far as I know he rarely gets played at that position, so I don't get why he'd make it on that list.

Finally, this season Doc Rivers will be running the Defense of his Celtics for the first time since KG and Allen arrived. Up until now he has had T. Thibodeau playing the role of Defensive Coordinator, which is practically unheard of anywhere else in the NBA. So until the end of this season we have no idea if Doc has good "defensive schemes" and the first place spot on this list should go to either Thibodeau or Poppovich (probably Pop since the Celtics have been crediting their schemes to the Spurs system for the past few years anyway).

You have to understand that the GMs voting here are not wearing the same Tim Duncan underoos that you wear every night before bed.

In a survey of NBA general manager, the Los Angeles Lakers were picked to repeat as Finals champs and Thunder wing Kevin Durant will win the league's MVP, according to NBA.com (http://www.nba.com/2010/news/features/10/02/survey-predictions/index.html).

The Lakers earned 63.0 percent of the votes when asked which team will win the 2011 NBA Finals. The Heat finished second with 33.3 percent while the Celtics finished third with 3.7 percent.


Miami was the heavy favorite in the East with 70.4 percent of the vote while the Lakers were an overwhelming favorite with 96.4 percent of the vote when asked which team would win the Western Conference.

Durant was picked by 66.7 percent of NBA GMs as the likely 2011 NBA MVP. In addition, 55.6 percent of respondents said if they were starting a franchise today, they would start with Durant. LeBron James was selected by 25.9 percent of GMs.



2010 No. 1 pick John Wall was selected by 67.9 percent of GMs as the player most likely to win the Rookie of the Year. Blake Griffin finished second with 28.6 percent of the vote.

As Duncan ages, there are still 6 of 28 GMs who think he's the best PF in the game -- 8 think Gasol is and another 8 think it's Nowitzki -- and another 1 of 27 GMs who think he's the best Center in the game.
