First person to throw two no-hitters in one season since Nolan Ryan in 1973. And the first person to throw a no-hitter in the playoffs since Don Larsen's famous perfect game in the 1956 World Series.

Nah, i loss is a loss, it still feels better then watching another team play in the playoffs cause your team didnt make it. On Friday the reds will win.

I was AS impressed w/ the Phillies' D as I was w/ Halladay's pitching.

Either way, pretty cool.

Didnt see any real noticeable difference between what the Reds got and what the Phillies got at the plate.

I hate the Phillies but have always been a big Halladay fan. Props to him, that was an amazing performance.

Further...

The Phillies saw 140 pitches. 24 were called strikes.

The Reds saw 104 pitches. 23 were called strikes.

Maybe Volquez shoulda been better at pitching today.

Can you believe that was his playoff debut? That performance has to be the best performance for any athlete in their playoff debut in any sport.

I wouldnt count your chickens just yet, Oswalt had a better ERA in September than Halladay did.

I would imagine they are all actually pretty happy for the guy. It's Toronto's fault it took this long for his post season debut.

Would love to see Halliday vs. Cliff Lee (who also was a stud yesterday, building on an incredible body of post season work) in a 7th deciding game -might have two no hitters going into the final innings.

+1

Another thing to appreciate about these two is that the game goes by much faster when they are pitching. The game doesn't drag on forever when they're on the mound

The problem for the Reds isnt Oswalt, its Arroyo, lefties are hitting 285 agaisnt Arroyo this year, and the Phillies are loaded with Lefties, which is why Dumbass Baker shoudl've went with Wood instead of Arroyo.
