I spoke with former President BILL CLINTON on the radio today...
Here's our exchange...

CHRIS: President Clinton, I am disturbed by the angry, partisan nature of politics in America today. So much of the rhetoric seems to be based on hatred for the other side. What can we do as Americans to elevate the dialogue and move this country in the right direction and realize that we're not just Republicans and Democrats and Independents, but we're all Americans?

PRESIDENT CLINTON: I think you can make it clear that you expect these candidates to treat each other with respect as human beings. When they have shadow groups going out demonizing the others, you can condemn it as Senator McCain condemned this group of veterans saying they served with John Kerry and he lied about his military record. None of them served with John Kerry. The people who served with John Kerry said he was a genuine hero. You can say you don't approve of that. And you and your friends can fill the web sites, you can fill the radio call-in shows with demands that both sides try to clarify what their honest differences are on the issues. Look, this idea of demonizing people is real old. I know about it. I was demonized for eight years so I get it. But, you're gonna hire a President, Senators, members of Congress and they're going to make decisions for you. And those decisions are going to affect your life. And they have honest disagreements as Patriots. You need to try to drive the Election to that and raise all kinds of sand whenever you think it's going in the other direction.
