Any of those 3 non-title fights could be a co-main event for any card, IMO. Even if it's just 4 fights, that's good for 50 bucks :p

Too bad Dana doesn't put THAT SHIT on for free, that'd be one hell of a THANK YOU for the fans. :)

Gotta go with Forrest. Franklin's old and goin to the HoF. Forrest is pretty much a gatekeeper. He needs this way more than Franklin.

the UFC offered Aldo a fight with Florian but he turned it down because he wants to defend his belt at 145 before he moves up

edit, not really UFC 126 related but since Florian is on the card i figured i'd throw it out there

Oh my shivering nads, Aldo would eat Florian up and shit him out. I'm not sure Kenny would actually survive that fight.

Kenny Florian vs. Evan Dunham To Headline UFC Fight For The Troops 2

A lightweight bout between Kenny Florian (14-5) and Evan Dunham (11-1) had been rumored for the Super Bowl weekend UFC 126 event, but will now headline the upcoming UFC Fight for the Troops 2 event in January.

The news was first reported by Heavy.com and has been confirmed by several media outlets.

UFC Fight for the Troops 2, or UFC Fight Night 23: Fight for the Troops 2, is being scheduled for Jan. 22nd at the US military base in Fort Hood, Texas.

http://www.themmanews.com/?p=22476

so this fight won't be at UFC 126

Silva via early 2nd round KO. I just don't get the love for Belfort. Don't get me wrong, I hope Bel breaks Silva's neck, but it's just not happening.

Vitor never comes through in the big one. Beating Rich was great but he has horrible losses to Randy twice, losses against Tito and Chuck..

Silva is not getting KO'd by anyone standing.. So he's got this..

agree with the Silva fight, though I can not wait to see the exchanges shown. I'm hoping that with the speed of Vitor, Silva will have the best brought out of him and pull off something amazing.

Anderson Silva vs. Vitor Belfort - War Vitor!
Forrest Griffin vs. Rich Franklin - I can't choose, but it's going to decision.
Jake Ellenberger vs. Carlos Eduardo Rocha - Despite being kind of boring, Ellenberger is a tough dude and I don't see him getting submitted by Rocha's resume.
Ryan Bader vs. Jon Jones - Bader is scared.
Antonio Banuelos vs. Miguel Torres - The mystique is gone from Torres, but he's got some nasty tricks that makes him exciting to watch.

PRELIMINARY CARD
Paul Kelly vs. Donald Cerrone - Cowboy is coming to prove the WEC belongs among the UFC's best, so I expect him to finish this by the 2nd round.

Com'n man! I'm really hoping it will end up in a draw + FOTN award! No one would lose! :lol

Both fighters said they have almost identical fighting abilities and tendencies, but then again Forrest said that that long time off gave him the time to totally redo his technique. I'm interested to see how much it has changed.

* Antonio Banuelos vs. Miguel Torres How Torres gets on the main card over Cerrone is a head scratcher. At least we don't have to listen to WEC Todd call him, "Miguel On Hell Torres" like he's some master of the spanish language.

MAIN CARD (Pay-per-view)

* Champ Anderson Silva vs. Vitor Belfort (for middleweight title)
I'll take Vitor here for 3 reasons. 1) Neither guy has wrestling or any interest in the TD so it will stay standing. 2) Vitor has the best chance on the feet of anyone Silva has fought in the UFC. He has real KO power and great hand speed. 3) I hate Silva and am dying to see him get laid the fuck out..

* Forrest Griffin vs. Rich Franklin
Taking Rich because he has so much experience against so many great fighters. He's fought really every style. To me he is the most under-rated legend in all of MMA. I like that he is a south-paw here and i think he has a more well versed stand up game. This is very close, neither guy has huge power so i see a decision either way. Maybe even a SD but i got Ace FTW here. War Rich...

* Jake Ellenberger vs. Carlos Eduardo Rocha
Jake has too much experience..

* Ryan Bader vs. Jon Jones*

Bones Jones is gonna walk right through Bader. I don't even think this will be a fight. Jones is like GSP in that he chews wrestlers up and spits them out. Bader is really only gonna win if he controls the fight with TD's and Bones is too strong, to good at wrestling and too athletic for that to happen. Jones will be the one getting it down and i have him putting Bader away with GNP late first or early 2nd round..

Antonio Banuelos vs. Miguel Torres

DJohn is a legend of the picks..

Former 2 time champion..

Haha thanks for the introduction dbreiden!

Im going to elaborate on my picks a little.

* Champ Anderson Silva vs. Vitor Belfort (for middleweight title)-Ive always loved Anderson like dbreiden loves GSP but my patience is wearing away with him. If anyone beats him I want it to be Vitor, but I think Anderson knows Vitor will be dangerous and will finish this fight.
* Forrest Griffin vs. Rich Franklin-This will be a war. Probably a decision but if its finished Rich will be the one walking away the victor.
* Ryan Bader vs. Jon Jones-Bader is a very very good fighter with an improving all around game, but Jon Jones fucks people up. This wont be any different
* Antonio Banuelos vs. Miguel TorresThis is a really good fight. Banuelos is a good pickup from WEC but in the end Torres will be too much.
* Paul Kelly vs. Donald Cerrone-I love me some Cerrone. Hes just too good for Paul.

You know i hear some people saying "Bader will be the toughest test yet" I think that is all just on paper.. Bones like GSP is chewing these wrestlers up and spitting them out.. Hammill got man-handled in that fight like never before.. I don't see Bader getting much done here other than a big right hand landing. I think that will be his plan to keep it up with Bones..

I pretty much agree with that. I do think Bader will be his toughest test, but hes not a huge upgrade over Hamill yet. I think Bader will continue to develope into a very good fighter, but at this point Bones is just too good. He has tremendous takedowns, an ever improving standup, vicious elbows, insane athleticism, a wrestling background, and with that athleticism and flexibility at his young age...if he wants to learn some submissions I see nothing stopping him from becoming dangerous at that too. Bottom line is Bader is a good fighter, but Bones is the real deal.

Bones might get too confident and Bader can use this against him.

I think you do not give much of a credit to Ryan who is a beat.
Different animal then Jones but a beast, and he can take Jon down.

I can see why youd think that. Bader is undefeated, hes no joke...hes forreal. Hes a very good wrestler with a heavy hand. But Jon Jones is just too quick and well rounded. I think Bader is the best fighter Jones has fought, but as far as him overlooking Bader or becoming over confident, I just dont see that happening. Every interview Ive read or watched with Jones, he just strikes me as a very humble fighter. Could it happen? Of course it could. I just dont see it.

Bader is big and smart, but the wins under his hat aren't nearly as impressive as how Bones has done it. It's not just who you beat, it's how - and Bones has broken everyone in his last 5 fights.

Bader's best chance is sleeping on top of Bones for 3 rounds or trying to KO him...I think he'll try to KO him with that right hand because Jones might not be ready to get punched like that considering that no one else has succeeded. The other option is leg kicks, Jones has chicken legs, but I don't think we'll see it. Meanwhile, Jones can spin kick and punch, flying knee, judo, elbow, clinch, and put Bader in a crucifix...so yea. :p:

I'm a fan of Jones especially for the way he acts after fights (especially after the Hamill dq), but that was pretty Anderson Silva-ish

according to Bones' twitter, he has done that his entire career for photo ops after press conferences

Watching the countdown footage i must say Jones is getting a pretty big head on him. He seems to be listening to all the "You are the next big thing hype". I am becoming a big fan and am on his band-wagon but he better be careful. He isn't the champ yet..

It has to be tough not to being a 23 year old, I have a feeling he'll keep his ego under control though

He seems to really love and be arrogant about his out of control unorthodox style. While i don't think Bader is the guy to answer it, someone like Shogun certainly is. I'm just a little taken back by some of the things he said on the countdown show. Stay focused Bones..

On the eve of all his fights I never resent Silva until Ed Soares opens his mouth. TBH I wouldn't passionately root against the guy every fight if Ed Soares was out of the picture. He talked about how Silva was LOOKING to submit Sonnen going into the fight. Ok sure, but by the 5th round I really doubt he cared how he won, you douche

If you know what's good for you, you should. One thing to consider: I will never pick Lesner, ever. I will never pick Silva, ever. I will never pick a Diaz, Penn, Kosfaggot, or anyone from AKA for that matter, ever. I will never pick against Mir, ever.

That plan alone cost me the title this year.

Was Silva rockin the Jabawockeez mask? Is he telling everyone he's gonna dance all over Belfort tomorrow?

Intense words from Belfort, he's either totally prepared or wondering how the hell he's gonna get out alive. I almost want to change my pick to Belfort for the added enjoyment of watching him win, but I just don't know. :(

MAIN CARD (Pay-per-view)

* Champ Anderson Silva vs. Vitor Belfort (for middleweight title)

I wanted not to make predictions for this fight but what the hell. If I could bet on Coto against Silva I can do it with Belford.
It's known that I hate Silva as much as anybody on the planet of mma.
He is motivated a lot and wants to demolish his opponent again. But again he might not get his flow in the game and get beat up. And I think standing up Vitor got pretty nice chance. Also no matter the talk- Belford can take Silva down and pound him out. He is much more devastating power machine then Sonnen is/was. So I'm choosing a challenger to win this fight and hopefully all the p4p talk will end up with this Silva guy.
Damn how I want him to lose !

* Forrest Griffin vs. Rich Franklin

Rich is more technician in his stand up. But Forrest is that much bigger - wow. Unbelievable that Franklin weighted in at 203 and looking really good.
Griffin will take a chance on the ground and also will try to hug Rich like they would be the best friends and more.
IMO Rich will find a way to escape from under Forest or will try to submit him. Standing up I think he will outstrike Forest

* Jake Ellenberger vs. Carlos Eduardo Rocha

* Ryan Bader vs. Jon Jones

Tough for me to choose a winner here. I know Bones is a huge favorite, but I do not like him that much and Bader is a guy I cheer for.
Jones is jacksons son though and will be prepared and will do his tricks and freaky moves. When he will find his spot he can destroy his opponent like he did to Vera and Matushenko - quick frickin elbows and that's it.
IMO Bader can put Jonny on his back and it might get fun.

* Antonio Banuelos vs. Miguel Torres

Need to climb back. hopefully he does cause his last fight was not that great IMO

PRELIMINARY CARD (Spike TV)

* Paul Kelly vs. Donald Cerrone
* Chad Mendes vs. Michihiro Omigawa

PRELIMINARY CARD (Untelevised)

* Gabe Ruediger vs. Paul Taylor
* Demetrious Johnson vs. Norifumi "Kid" Yamamoto

Risky to bet on this guy in the first battle in the UFC

* Kyle Kingsbury vs. Ricardo Romero
* Mike Pierce vs. Kenny Robertson

He talks smack and needs to back it up.

Fuckin Cablevision just upped the price for UFC PPV to 55 bucks from 45 bucks. This has gotten so out of hand. I am gonna buy this one but at this point i'll maybe buy 4 or 5 a year now.. UFC better get a TV deal soon or no mediocre card they ever put on will sell at those prices.. In 2007 it cost me 29 bucks for shit's sake..

UFC 126-130 are pretty stacked IMO, but not worth 55 each. 126, 129, 130 are the only ones I'd go that far for, which is still saying a lot about the quality of the cards on a back 2 back. UFC 127 will probably be real entertaining tho, but the implications of those fights aren't as big as the others.

Shit I hope Direct dosent do that!

I was on Sherdog today trying to gauge what most have to pay and a lot of people pay 55-60 or as much as 65 when the cable company adds the taxes in. UFC is going out of their way to sue people for streaming these days and yet they keep encouraging more and more fans to stream by jacking up the prices. They have seriously increased the % of price in NY by 100% in the last 4 years. Also some of their so so cards are starting to lag in the buy department.. Edgar/Maynard did only 270,000 buys. The UFC is already past the limit on this and with streaming never going away one would assume we should be getting this either cheaper on PPV or more fights on free TV in the future.. I seriously hope the lesser events start getting horrendous buy-rates so the UFC is encouraged to lower the damn price..

I just checked and it said it would be 44.95 but still damn man i feel for ya. And I know I used to get the streams off of atdhe.net but that site got shut down. So I guess Ill be dishing out the money or missing out on the next few PPVs. But tonight I sure as hell wont be missing out.

Obviously i am a huge fan so is an extra 10 bucks gonna stop me from getting a huge card like this? No. But it discourages me from getting any card i am not fired up about. If the UFC thinks they are gonna raise this to 70 bucks across the board by 2014 and still have a fanbase on PPV they are fucking kidding themselves..

That was a lot better than the first one IMO, and imo if Rocha gets a stand up game or a wrestling game he will be someone to look out for. He just needs something else to go with that submission game. Nice performance by Jake. And who the fuck gave Rocha a 30-27 score lol

This is the only gripe i have with the scoring system... Ellenberger skimmed rounds 2 and 3 10-9... where as Rocha put on a clinic in the first and it was still only 10-9.. i agree Ellenberger obviously won the last two rounds... but they should be able to score more freely such as 10-8 without needing to see knockdowns etc..

Pretty boring fight outside of round 1 tbh..

GSP is a more technical version of Sonnen and you know it. Took a miracle for Silva to survive Sonnen..

What we saw tonight we basically knew already.. Silva has no equal on the feet.

A fighter like Sonnen that has the great wrestling and TD/gnp threat can beat him. Silva when he has no threat of the TD just sits on his shots and explodes.. Sonnen never let him do that.. HE was up huge on all cards before the sub.. I'd love to see GSP/silva or Sonnen/silva 2

What i ment was... there was one group of challengers when he first became champ... (Henderson, Franklin, Marquardt) then there was another group (Sonnen, Belfort, even Griffin at LHW)..

I would like to see him move up to LHW.. imagine Silva VS Shogun, Jones, Evans.

At this point, there's better fights for Silva moving up to LHW than GSP moving to MW. GSP is a better, faster, more technical Sonnen...and Sonnen is the only thing we've seen that can hang with Silva for more than a round.

I'd be happier to see Silva fight for LHW against Rua/Jones...they wouldn't take Silva's shit.

his wrestling and sub defense does not make up for the size difference. Sonnen is a lot bigger. Silva wont get as tired from being layed on and GSP is gonna be tired as fuck at that weight. If st.pierre cant finish smaller guys like alves, hardy, and fitch then no way he can beat silva other than lay and pray. if you guys want anderson to lose, your best bet is him at 205 vs shogun, rashad, ect.. or wait for 2 years till hes past his prime.

I like Jon Jones, but everyone needs to stop riding the dick till he beats someone. reminds me of a young gsp, everyone was on the d and then he gets submitted by hughes. then gets his rematch and dominates. tough fight with penn and the rest is history (minus the serra fight) take notes from the past.

UFC 126 shocker: Jones given immediate title shot after submitting Bader

By Steve Cofield

Now that's a night. Jon Jones showed off another part of his sick arsenal in taking out unbeaten Ryan Bader at UFC 126. The lanky 23-year-old light heavyweight phenom overpowered Bader for 6-of-9 minutes on the ground and finished the fight with a guillotine choke. The UFC shocked Jones and the fans by offering the kid a shot at the UFC light heavyweight title against Mauricio "Shogun" Rua. Jones accepted on the spot.

"I feel great. God is so good. I feel great," Jones told UFC analyst Joe Rogan. "Hats off to Endicott, New York. And I'm going for a world title baby. Let's do it!"

Rogan announced that Rashad Evans, Rua's original opponent at UFC 128 was out with an injured knee. Dana White confirmed to Yahoo! Sports' Kevin Iole that the fight is still on for mid-March in Newark, N.J.

Jones (12-1, 6-1 UFC) will have just over five weeks to prep for the biggest fight of his young career. Iole reports that Evans injured his knee yesterday. According to Dr. Steve Sanders, the knee will keep Evans sidelined for 6-8 weeks.

Bader (12-1, 5-1 UFC) is a huge, thickly-muscled lightheavyweight, but he looked no different than every other Jones' opponent in the UFC. The kid is thin, but he has overpowered everyone when they've locked horns with him.

After toying with some standup at the start of the fight, Jones scored an easy takedown 30 seconds into the fight. He muscled Bader on the ground, which shocked many observers considering he was facing a former all-american wrestler from Arizona State. Jones worked for different chokes while he kept the fight on the ground for two minutes. Once it got to the feet, Bader looked intimidated by Jones' length. He attempted a takedown from a mile away and wound up on his back again for the final two minutes of the first.

In the second, it was more of the same. Jones was more measured. Bader looked tentative on the feet. Bader made the mistake again of shooting from a distance and allowed Jones to settle on top of him, where he eventually sunk in the nasty guillotine. His 84-inch reached help set it up and it was clear his grip was like a vice. Bader tapped at 4:20 of the second.

As far as GSP and Silva goes....If the fight goes the distance I think GSP would win, because he would take Silva down over and over again as previously stated, and he would keep him there. Now Silva would obviously have the advantage on feet, and could always pull off a submission, but I think GSP is too smart to get caught in one. Id love to see that fight. And as far as Jon Jones goes, people arent "Riding his dick" because of who he has beaten (Which btw arent bad fighters at all) Its because of his age, amazing skill level, and how has demolished all of them....he pretty much made them look like pussies.

Sonnen also cheated, and still lost.

Ummm...I may be wrong but wasn't Sonnen completely in the right during this controversy? Wasn't it just the fact that Sonnen didn't know he had to report his hormone medication to the athletic commission cause he already had a few months before?
