Didn't mean to start another food forum here, but I've been noticing driving down 281 that the old Razoos is now being made into a Smokey Bones. They are part of the Darden family, which consists of Olive Garden and Red Lobster. Just curious as to if anyone has ever eaten there outside of S.A and wanted to know if its good or not.

Yeah, we went there all the time. But it was always so empty, no wonder it shut down.

There was a Smokey Bonez on Perrin Beitel awhile back but I'm pretty sure it closed up.

After the storm, I visited Louie LeDoux's in the Forum. He's from New Orleans and he's a pretty good chef. He cooked me up some chargrilled oysters specially for me. That's the bet Cajun/Creole place that I've found in S.A. But I'm sure there are others.
But I know a great many good places in New Orleans, naturally.

Well, being as I'm from deep Cajun country..the two places I visit is Acadiana Cafe regularly and N'awlins (but that's been a number of years since I last visited there since the SBC opened up). Cannot stand PappaWTFisthatsupposedtobe? dirty rice you say? Kiss my coonass. Strangely my hubby likes Pappa's but frankly, he eats anything.
Do we have a Landrys downtown? If we do, I cannot vouch for Landry's because I haven't visited the SA location. Visited a location around Lafayette a few years back and the food was swimming in grease and that's enough to put me off the whole chain.
Pat OB's - love the hurricaines!! :whine
Louie Ledoux's is right down the road from me - went there when they first opened and did not leave with a favorable impression..maybe I should give them another try.
Acadiana Cafe - great boudin, great gumbo..even my picky kid will eat there.

Well ... I haven't actually lived in San Antonio since 1997, except for a few months before I started remodeling my house in 2006. So I don't know any really good Creole places there. Is Pat O'Brien's any good there?
But I'm learning about all the good places in my adopted home city of New Orleans. Arnault's and Ralph & Cacoo's are 2 of my favorites.
