anyone ever have them or know anyone who has been tormented by them? I hear they are on the rise.

I was scared I had them when I moved into my new apartment. I got some mysterious bites and wasnt what was going on. Was relieved that the bug wasn't a bed bug. They happened to just be palm tree bugs.

A long time ago my parents advised me against letting the bed bugs bite. I took their advice and have not been tormented, thus increasing my ability to sleep tight.

I heard they have reappeared after being almost gone since the 60's, with the influx of more illegal immigrants.

That's happen once to me. Don't know if it was bed bugs but I fogged the apt twice and trashed all the bed sheets. Washed clothes even if it was in a separate room and traded down to a smaller new mattress. Lucky I was due for a new one away. Problem went away. Like I said don't know if it was bed bugs...if it was I am surprised I got rid of them. I hear they a nightmare to get rid of.

I heard this too, but except not so much immigrants but of the elimination of DET insecticide. Bedbugs don't care about how messy or clean a place is, as long as they have a hiding spot and can crawl up your bed, you are going to be bit.

I hear they are extremely tough to get rid of if not treated early. I read they only need to feed once every 6 months in order to stay alive, and they can lay dozens of eggs a day.

If you travel somewhere known to have them, be sure to freeze all your laundry/suitcases if you want to play it safe.

My boyfriend's neighbors recently got bedbugs, and he has been very paranoid since. It seems like they are moving out of that apartment and they have thrown away a lot of their furniture. A lot of people get them by staying in hotels or because they have pets. I have also heard that they are on the rise.

Confessions of a bedbug host;
My arms were covered with bites. Before knowing what they were I went to the docs. He said it was from the weather, I took the medicine and nothing fixed. One morning a couple days later I saw a little bug crawling down my wall, so out of instinct I smashed it. The bug splatted blood on the wall. My nemesis showed its ugly head. I solved the bedbug problem fairly easily. I simply went through every inch of my mattress and box spring and killed every fucking last one of them.(Squeeze with tweezers until life has left their body) I caught the bedbugs from bedrails I bought off craigslist. Once I killed them in the mattress, I covered the mattresses with special bags to not let any survivors out. After I concluded my holocaust on the fuckers in my bed, I searched over the walls and along the carpet. They hide in the corners of the wall, along the edges of the ceiling, any molding and pretty much EVERYTHING else , you must be OCD with your searches. You can kill them off in acouple of days, but you must make sure not to miss any or they will feed and breed!!!!

Never happened to me but one night I woke up to some roach crawling on my face.
