Let's listen to some sound from a phone call a student received (http://www.channelcincinnati.com/video/4507489/detail.html) which is one of many instances of recruiters lying to kids to get them to sign up.

Now I know there've been reports or them lying to get people in before. This isn't anything new. Maybe the scale's larger - I don't know.
But military recruiters have always been pretty notorious for making the military sound a lot cushier than it really is.

Of course I joined the Corps so I knew what I was getting into.

yeah, military recruiters have always lied. it is one of the toughest and most stressful jobs in the military. that is why whatever a recruiter says you must get it in writing. this is nothing new.

Just like guys will say anything to get a girl in the sack, recruiters will say anything to get you sign on the dotted line.
