He's playing a lot better than he had been.

Props to him. Quite frankly I'm a bit surprised at his ability to put the ball on the floor, and his defense is acceptable. The kid has a chance to really help this year if his outside shot can be consistent.

Another note : Anderson doesn't look to have has his legs under him just yet. Hopefully that will come in time as the season progresses.

Another note : Anderson doesn't look to have has his legs under him just yet. Hopefully that will come in time as the season progresses.

From what I saw tonight Gary Neal has a lot of shots. He looks comfortable shooting a spot up three, he can hit a shot on the run, he can come off of a screen and shoot, he can take a dribble and shoot, he can take an off balance shot and make it. He looks better than I thought going by the comments from previous games.

That's all good, but he's gotta make the shots though like you said. I am impressed that he seems equally comfortable taking all kinds of shots. Maybe Manu gave him some confidence after drawing up that play against the Clippers for him and calling him the best shooter on the team.

Anderson does look a bit gassed out there, I agree on that.

Anderson just seems content to get rid of the ball. He needs to do things with a purpose. In these moments, he needs to be the guy he was in college and take over.

The difference between Anderson and Neal is Neal is a more confident player. He doesn't think he belongs or play as though he's not trying to step on anyone's toes, he knows he belongs (whether he does or not remains to be seen) and he plays with the proper amount of aggressiveness and assertiveness.

It's going to take some time for the Spurs to embed that into Anderson's mind, but once they do and he get's his legs under him, it's clear he's going to be a solid contributor.

He's playing a lot better than he had been.

Another note : Anderson doesn't look to have has his legs under him just yet. Hopefully that will come in time as the season progresses.

I like his confidence.

That being said, he still needs to shoot a high percentage from three to justify playing time. But he can be a useful end of the bench type player on this team. Even if he's not a surefire NBA player on his own, on this team, with all the pieces they have and given what they need out of him, he can be.

As an aside, seeing Gee at varying points in the 4th quarter during stoppages beside Simmons and Anderson drove home how small he really is. Simmons and Anderson look to be a legit 6-7 and 6-6 respectively. Gee can't be more than 6-4.

Unfortunately for him, with his lack of a handle, SF's probably going to have to be his primary position if he's to be an NBA player, particularly on this team.

People need to put their bias aside and face facts: it would be foolish to cut Simmons at the expense of Gee. I wanted the Spurs to avoid Simmons types as much as anyone, but given the situation they've put themselves in, it's clear he's a better option than Gee. Yes, he's older, slower and not nearly as athletic, but he's also bigger, stronger, a better shooter and he's an experienced player, meaning he knows how to play.

Gee is still intriguing enough that it's worthwhile to have him on the Toros again, should no better option arise for him.

Nothing from what we already know. Yup Neal and anderson are our best new guys. Simmons and Temple should get a spot but are unlikely to get PT. The rest .. Gee, Gist , Jerrels. Cousins. I'm sorry just go home, and play for the Toros. At least Cousins has a shot of being called anytime one of are bigs gets an injury. That about it. Now can we now start the season.

Unfortunately Tiago's probably going to be like that as well since he hasn't been playing in any of these games. Oh well as long as they're healthy :toast As rookies they probably won't be seeing more than 20-30 mins a game anyway.

I have to say that Tony played a great game if he brings it like this every game we are going to be a great team. I also think that Bonner and Anderson played a good game even though you can tell Anderson still doesn't have his legs but you know Pop he goes slow with injuries.

I also agree the team is picked the only thing left is to decide who gets put on the Toros..Gist, Cousin, Jerrells or Gee?

Oh and have Cousins and Gist move in with our strength coach they both need to add fifteen pounds of muscle to have a chance in the NBA. Also don't try to make Gist a SF leave him at his natural position PF and see what he can do in the Toros.

Preseason: San Antonio Spurs 108, Caja Laboral 85 (http://www.48minutesofhell.com/)
by Andrew A. McNeill
48 Minutes of Hell

AT&T CENTER — It was close at first. And then the San Antonio Spurs made it look easy. It wasn’t, but that’s how they made it look. The Spurs outrebounded Caja Laboral by 18 rebounds on the night in the Spurs’ 108-85 win at the AT&T Center. 18 of San Antonio’s 58 rebounds were of the offensive variety, and Caja Laboral had no way stopping the Spurs inside.

Tony Parker got layup after layup at the hoop, and if he didn’t make one he got fouled instead. Parker led the Spurs with 22 points and added four rebounds, two assists and three steals for good measure. Parker also shot 4-4 from the free throw line.
