I understand who the OP is, but it seems like everybody is already crowning the Giants as NL champs when they're only up 2-1 :lol

The Rangers are pretty much in after tonight. No way I can see the Yankees turning it around and winning 3 in a row especially when they have to beat Lee if they make it to game 7.

San Francisco.

I hope the Giants advance. Rangers v. Giants World Series would be a big ole "FUCK YOU" to the media. Hell, I read something that said "Yankees over Rangers in 2.5 games, since they will invoke an emergency mercy rule." That's how cocky these assholes are. Fuck 'em, I say.

At the risk of redundancy (seeing as how I already posted this in the TX/NY series thread), didjoo happen to see THIS article, Mel?

Right now I'd say it's 50-50 between the Giants and Phillies. Giants lead 3-2, but the Phillies are at home.

But of course! Maybe you will want to watch some baseball and become a Rangers fan, haha. They are a fine group of misfits and youngsters!

I have seen my brother play rugby and I would likely become a fan if I thought I could ever watch a game here. My brothers both have the "All Blacks" jerseys. I know that is NZ so maybe you won't like that ... lol.

The thing is to me, baseball regular season sucks and is boring to watch but when the playoffs roll around it's really fun. If you really want to have fun, put some money down on a playoff baseball game. No sport is more fun betting on than baseball.

Such a double edged sword. Yet another stage for Cliff Lee to up his value. Nolan Ryan and GreenBerg are gonna have to not only beat the yankees in the game but beat them in the offseason too.

The Rangers will keep Lee for sure if they can complete this magical journey with a World Series trophy. There's no way Lee leaves if the Rangers are the champs.

Why not? He won his trophy, now he collects the money.

He did say last night that it's great for his family to be so close to home, and there was some implication that there is a chance he'd say. Then of course he changed the subject quickly, haha.

I also read somewhere that the Rangers are driving his family in from Arkansas. If so, smooth move on their part.

Huge upset for both teams. They're both likeable, but i'm pulling for Cody Ross, Edgar Renteria (former Marlins), and the rest of that line-up of castaways. If Texas wins though more power to them...it's just good to see someone other than the usual suspects (Yankees, Red Sox, Cardinals, Phillies, etc). Giants 4-3.

Well I just bought tickets to Game 5. And because I waited so long, prices went WAY down. So even after buying these, I still made about $900 after selling the tickets I had to Game 3. I hope Cliff Lee is pitching for a series lead tomorrow.

God, that suuuuucked. Especially having to sit in front of the Giants' family section. No excuses, the Giants are owning this series.

Not that it would have made a huge difference, but isn't it time to move Moreland up in the order, like 7th?

Washington makes sure that Molina doesn't bat 9th in the order so he is not just before a speedy guy like Andrus. I too would like to see Moreland move up a bit in the lineup, however.

Inconsistency has plagued the Rangers all season. They had stretches where they'd go 9-1 against Boston/NY/Minnesota, then immediately follow that up by getting swept by Baltimore or KC. Looks like they peaked against the Yankees and followed that up with a valley against SF.

Meanwhile they Giants slowly picked up steam all season long, and they were at the top of their game at the perfect time. :tu Congratulations, Giants.

funny
everyone thought the nl west was the worse divsion in baseball
guess what that division won it all

guess what the giants last day of season finally clitched playoff birth

their manager made all kinds of moves throughtout the playoffs and 99 of the 100 moves worked

he was a man reason they got there though
he had clutch hits during the regular season
he sucked in world series but other then that he was nto bad

I liked the comparison they used last night on BBTN with the 2004 Red Sox. Giants weren't nearly as loaded in the batting order, but there were similarities as far as having the top end pitching rotation and having a bunch of misfits and castoffs to round out the everyday players.

The Giants line-up really shouldn't scare any team. But their pitching was so good that all it took was a few clutch hits and they'd be in a very good position to win. It's not very easy to predict if a player can be a clutch hitter, and sometimes it's just a matter of luck, getting a hitter hot at the right time, having a favorable match-up against certain pitchers. But, seems like the Giants pushed all the right buttons along the way.

Also notable about Pat Burrell they mentioned last night is that he was college teammates with Aubrey Huff. And that in itself was valuable to keep Huff relaxed since this was his first experience in the post season in his tenured MLB career. Huff had some important hits along the way as well. Burrell had a strong half season with the Giants, but his value could have been just important for his relationship with Huff.
