She was the strong one, the courageous one, the athletic younger sister who fought leukemia with faith and unflinching determination. In the low post, Michelle Splitter stood 6-feet-6. In Brazil’s heart, she stood taller, so tall her big brother -- 6-foot -11 Tiago Spliter -- will forever look up to her.

Great read! It is a shame that people are taken from this world, but at the same time it helps those that remain to realize their dreams.

Good Luck Tiago! All of Spurs Nation is behind you and your family!

what a find by the FO. even if he's a bust on the court (God forbid), he's still living it up in real life. :tu

Don't know if he was talking out his ass, but one of the announcers during the Mavs Magic preseason game said Tiago would be out another 6 weeks.

It's also a shame that the majority of posters on SpursTalk failed to recognize that this was the main reason he decided to stay in Spain in 2007 but still proceeded to call him a "back stabber." Granted we have a lot of dumbasses on this board, you'll be hard pressed to find a thread with more ignorant posts than one that has Splitter as the center of discussion. We even have a "Tiago Splitter Backstabber" emoticon (even though I know this is more a joke because of all of the overreactors...it's sad nonetheless).

Excellent choice to draft him and he'll be worth the wait. He wouldn't be wearing a Spurs uniform right now if it were up to most folks on here, though. He would've been traded a thousand times over already.

Really touching story. I hope Tiago can dedicate more victories to his sister.
