:wowplease tell me this isnt true and i hope the guy meant he will miss 6weeks total.. but even that doesnt make sense
I heard that, too, but the same guys were talking about how Tiago had been in the draft for "fifteen years" and joked that he was getting bonuses with his foreign teams for making the NBA draft then leaving.
In other words, I don't think they knew what they were talking about.

If this is the true, Spurs FO seem to be hiding something about this injury.
I'm leaning towars it being just miss-information though

The latest from Monroe last night. There's been nothing specific on when he'll play.
Splitter update:
...Still battling a strained plantaris muscle in his right leg, the 7-footer from Brazil has been ruled out of Thursday's final preseason game against the Houston Rockets at the AT&T Center.
...That means Splitter's introduction to the NBA will occur during the regular season, a reality Popovich accepts with a shrug of the shoulders.

^^ thanks thats what im thinking too didnt see any indication via twitter or real sources. im sure theyre just hoping hes out that long!, if he is indeed injured then pop secrecy is startin to tick me off. i knew splitter would be vital to this team but now im feeling like splitter is severely needed. i know tiago is going to lift this team, cause right now were not looking so hot

I think that was Matt Guokas, former Magic coach...not sure if he's Orlando's regular commentator, but he was doing the game between Magic and Mavs...I thought he was just talking as he didn't sound really informed about Splitter...
Injury no one ever heard of before
+ Ever receding timetable for return
+ Spurs' policy re injury info
= :wow:wow:wow:wow

yeah the fact he has barely stepped on the court isnt good hope he gets well soon
Splitter dominated Odom in the Worlds.
Then he was hobbled the last couple of games and Brazil faded.
And he hasn't played since . . . :(

Alright, now I want to know what is going on here.
Another poster said that when this injury first occurred that it's not usually by itself and there is usually a tear of some kind with it. Are the Spurs screwing us around here?

Splitter update: Rookie Tiago Splitter, the Spurs' major off-season addition, was seen running the court Tuesday, but only in a conditioning drill. Still battling a strained plantaris muscle in his right leg, the 7-footer from Brazil has been ruled out of Thursday's final preseason game against the Houston Rockets at the AT&T Center.
That means Splitter's introduction to the NBA will occur during the regular season, a reality Popovich accepts with a shrug of the shoulders.
The Spurs coach won't quantify how big a setback Splitter's injury was to his ability to adapt his game to that of the NBA after 10 seasons of European basketball.

I swear, he better play the two games I go to, actually, I demand no injuries against the Hornets and against the Rockets.

Just look at it like when Manu and Tony played year round...
Tiago just needs to EASE slowly into the season so his body mends a little and then be ready by feb/march/april....

I don't know how man of yall saw the interview with pop where he was talking about Tiago's injury but he mentioned a few things that should tell you whats going on. First off, he said something like "Tiagos been playing year round for about a little under a decade now", and, "His (Tiago) body's been talking to him, now were gonna make him listen". I'm betting that Tiago has been playing in pain for quite some time and is attempting to push through some sort of pain, now, to get back on the court. When youre a championship level competitor, you pla through anything you can get away with. Pop probably just doesn't want to throw Tiago into a more physical league until he knows that he's up to scrap, completely. There's no rush, let him heal and he'll be around a lot longer. The injury has been heard of and defined, its just not common.

So this Splitter fellow actually exists? He's not like a figment, or, like a rumor?
