SAN ANTONIO -- San Antonio police said a would-be burglar was fatally stabbed Thursday morning after attempting to break in to a Southside home.
Police said they received a report of two men attempting to break into a home in the 2200 block of Mission Verde.
When officers arrived, police said they found the body of one of the men, who had been stabbed to death.
Police said the homeowner's his son, who is in his early 20s, fought off one of the two men, fatally stabbing him in the process. The homeowner's son told police he fired a gun at the other man, but wasn't sure if he hit him.
Police said that man fled in a white, four-door sedan. He is described as a Hispanic and in his 30s. Police said they did not know if he was injured in the shooting.
Police said the homeowner's son is not likely to face charges.
