My son did great the first nine weeks of school so his teacher granted him permission to accompany me to the Spurs practice this morning. Seeing his face light up when we walked in was great. Seeing the smiles he had when he met his two favorite players was absolutely priceless ! Here are a few pics:

:lol zing!!

Good stuff, looks like your son had a blast.

Wish my teachers were that cool when I was in school. They just gave me gold stars and crap for being good.

When I found out we were going to the practice on Wednesday afternoon, I immediately called his teacher to ask if she would excuse him from missing class Thursday morning. She said she wouldn't count him absent because he did so well during the first grading period. Just FYI, I did get him to school just in time for lunch !

Keep the dream, you never know. I didn't think I'd ever see Duncan play in person, and it happened for me. Meeting him was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. It can happen, I'm proof of it. :)

Lucky lucky. I've followed TD since his college days and I was 9 when he was drafted to the Spurs...If I were ever going to meet a player and get his autograph, I wish it would be his.

I plan on coming over to SA to actually watch spurs play, but that wont be until couple of years. :depressed Let alone meeting TD.

I doubt the trio of manu, tony and td or even Popovich will still be together by the time I come to watch the spurs play. To me right now, watching every game with the trio and pop is like history, I want to be part of it by watching them play together. Hopefully I can do that :wow

I once met Tim at Full Life Fitness. Great guy! He even shot around with us for a few minutes. Awesome experience.

I am certain that your son will cherish this moment for the rest of his life. I know you probably will. :toast

I am thrilled your son had a great day, but the teacher could get in hot water for counting him present when he was not there.

Why would he need to miss Thursday morning??

I think it might be a bit easier to see an NBA team when you aren't over 8,403 miles / 13,523 km away...

Always wanted to go to San Antonio to see the Spurs play, but the cost would be far too hard to justify...

Very jealous, great photos :D

Hate to be Debbie Downer, but if this is a public school (it might apply to private schools too), what the teacher did was against the law. Misrepresenting attendance is one of the few ways a teacher can get fired immediately without a history of problems.

Lmao @ that, I was thinking the same thing..at what school does a teacher have jurisdiction over a parent when it comes to outside the school matters?

That picture of Tim Duncan with your son should be put on the wall.

And I'm talking about Tim Duncan's wall.

It's kindergarten so the attendance rules are different from the elementary/middle school. He just didn't get a sticker for that day.
