Brilliant move by Cashman. Some real espionage type of shit. He told Girardi to tell the starting pitching to tank so he has more leverage with ownership to throw a fortune at Cliff Lee. Cashman can now tell the Steinbrenners that it is of paramount importance to pick up another ace. Sure, we don't get to repeat, but it's a small sacrifice to pay for another 10 years of dominance after we sign Lee.
So enjoy the World Series TexASS fans, it's going to be the last one you see for a long, long, long time.
And guess what? I have a ring ceremony coming up :lobt2:

Quit bellyaching about payroll. No one's stopping TexASS from spending. Not my fault that I root for Teams (Lakers/Yankees) owned by people not afraid to spend.

Typical Laker/Celtic/Yankee fan. This argument is completely irrational. The Yankees lost cause they caught a Hot Ranger team. Chill the fuck out and perhaps, I'd say, focus on your Laker fannity. At least the NBA season hasn't started, and well at this point, they still champs...for the time being.
Cheers

Maybe the Yankees aren't a shoo-in to land Cliff Lee in the offseason after all.
Kristen, the wife of the star left-handed pitcher, told USA Today that she was treated badly while sitting in the visiting family section during a Yankees-Rangers playoff game at Yankee Stadium. She told the newspaper their were ugly taunts, obscenities, cups of beer thrown and spitting from fans in the section above.
Cliff has been stellar for the Rangers this postseason (3-0, 1.13 ERA) and will be a free agent at the end of the season. The Yankees are likely to be one of the top bidders for his services.
It is not known if this latest incident will factor into Cliff's decision, but Yankees fans certainly didn't leave a lasting impression on Kristen.
"The fans did not do good things in my heart," she said. "When people are staring at you, and saying horrible things, it's hard not to take it personal."

Wouldnt count on Cliff Lee for you Yank-off fans.
