tbh I need Manningham to get me 3 pts seeing as i'm down by 2 pts right now in Fantasy.
My other league im up by 11 with Brandon Jacobs left to play for me. Im up against Romo.
Hoping for Romo to throw 3 picks, Manningham to get a TD, and Jacobs to get a TD as well

Another reason to fire Wade. They're just piling up now. If this was the Steelers or Patriots who lost their starting QB when up 20-7 they would still probably win.
The Cowboys completely stopped playing.

10-25-2010, 10:08 PM
You're right, Kitna is a rock star. We're going for -224 offensive yards every game on our way to the Superbowl.
McGee did better than Kitna in the preseason. There was a time when people were calling for Romo to replace Bledsoe, and everyone remembers what a disaster that turned out to be.
First off, Dallas isn't going anywhere this year. Second, if you do plan on going with McGee, do you really think this is the best time to trot him out? He hasn't taken anything besides scout team reps since his HOF preseason.
Third, Kitna isn't the reason why Dallas is losing.
Fourth, Romo was in the Dallas system for three and half years, not three and a half months. You could totally destroy the kid's confidence by asking this much of him this early. It isn't always about one game or even one season.

But, down 18 with a quarter of football to be played, there's no pressure for this kid to win the game. I think he gives you the best chance to do so, but it's not asking too much. Veteran starters are benched much earlier in the season for rookie QBs with the same amount of time in their respective systems, so I don't buy that.
Eh, McGee came out in 2009. Still not the smart to play him in this particular game, barring injury.
Possibly not, but it would be ultra retarded to go with Kitna for the rest of the year. What's the point of drafting a QB in the 4th round if you're not gonna give him the shot when the time arises?
MannyIsGod
10-25-2010, 10:14 PM
Well, McNabb likely will be gone after this season if he doesn't produce eventually but I'm pretty sure McNabb with the Cowboys personel would like better. I'd say the best possible way to handle it is to give Kitna one or two starts and then roll with McGee, building his practice workload as the weeks progress.
I wish they'd fire Wade now, I would love Wade to be the OC of my team.

If your argument is that this game is over and they shouldn't bother risking injury to McGee, that's one thing. If you're worried about his fragile ego, don't bother. He's a tough kid. He had to go into a game his (sophomore?) season vs. Texas unexpectedly. He got smashed on one play and jumped up immediately to jaw at the guy that hit him. He went on to play very well, though they lost that game. He's been with the team for over a year. Not as much prep time as Romo, but more than '3 months.'
And yes, Kitna is part of the reason Dallas is losing. Defense is another part of it, but when you're ahead of the Giants and then Kitna comes in and you move backwards on practically every possession, you're not helping.

Word has been for the last few years that Cowher has been setting himself up for the Carolina job. IIRC, he lives in the Carolinas and wants to be close to his family.

Dez Bryant is more responsible for the comeback than Kitna. Kitna blew a number of passes that would have helped tie the game. One of the scores was from 18 yards out after an interception return on a virtual lateral to Dez Bryant.
Most of the yards gained were yards after the catch. I think I remember two forward passes from Kitna, one to a wide open Witten for the two point conversion, and another to a wide open player for a first down. For most of his time though, Kitna was going backwards, getting sacked, missing open receivers, etc. He's terrible.
