i don't listen to the 80's and i know this band is from this decade but god damn if they don't sound like the 80's.
ghostland observatory.
i just heard them the other day, kind of started to think my friend might be shutting the closet door and hiding inside.

the 70's had all that faggy disco bullshit.
the 90's started off with gay ass afrocentric r&b crap, then ended with nsync and britney spears and even gayer shit.
the 00's are just faggy from start to finish
the 80's brought the goods tbh.

Other than the faggy disco stuff, the 70's had some great rock stuff. Boston, Kansas, Styx, Alan Parsons Project, Rush, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Blue Oyster Cult, and Electric Light Orchestra. But yeah when it comes to pop, the 80's and 60's had the best stuff.

Maybe it's because it is pop, I guess....
I guess any pop will be kinda tame.
I like the 60's & 70's for rock and for soul...
I didn't mind the 90's for alternative...
I think the 80's had other styles that didn't sound as gay-but THE ONLY one I can remember now is SRV...
the 90's and the new millenium were good for world music...

Missing Persons is my favorite New Wave pop band of that early early 80's era.
From the first moment I heard Lady GaGa and saw her pic posted in a thread on ST, I thought "Dale Bozzio".
Their musicianship is pretty much unequaled amongst their pop peers, the drummer is one of the greatest living drummers still, and their guitarist and bassist were amazing as well. They just all got a little gay and decided to make kick ass pop music with a hot pink-haired chick with fake boobs.

Missing Persons are the tits. Not my top 80's band but still great. Spring Session M is a classic from start to finish. Do You Hear Me still kills me. On top of Dale, Terry Bozzio is a beast. Warren Cuccurullo is an awesome guitar player. The rest served a purpose :lol

Some of the dates were billed as MP and she did sing all their hits. She does not have it anymore. Apparently Dale has gone all Christian-ed out and starts ranting about finding god and shit during sets. She still seems kinda spaced and drugged out though. Poor chick. MP was in position to have it all. They were ahead of their time with the electric drums and shit.
Oh well. All that coulda been I guess. There's always Spring Session M and half of the rest of their two albums lol.

Nice. :toast I was gonna post this one. Great song, band and lyrics.
I'm 41 and I'm not a fan of most 80's music from '83 on(I think pop music in general, rap and MTV took the substance out of alot of good artists and music in general until the early 90's)<<<< just my opinion coming from a musicians standpoint. Anyway....
.....but '80-82 freakin' rocked in a big way. Yeah,i realize this is a "pop" thread but there it is.
Here's another "pop" hit that i like, not sure if it was posted already.
Drummer Tony Thompson's work is NICE...and of course the late Robert Palmer was always good at whatever he touched vocally.
