To me, this is an underrated era for Pop music. Probably because it happened 41-50 years ago. lol Everyone remembers the Beatles but there is a lot more great songs from this era. Mainly from the British Invasion.

I was taught to appreciate 60's pop and I like a lot of these songs / bands. Though there is something very fucking sadistic sounding about most of these songs. A lot of them have some similar sounding qualities. It must be the electric organ that gives each of the songs above a dark feel. Anyone else agree?

+1. imo it is the organ. 60's pop also has this "twangy" guitar sound to it as well.

Nice. A Taste of Honey. Great track.

Beautiful track from the Beatles. Side B of Abbey Road was an amazing end to an incredible band.

I have YET to see any of today's so-called artists display even half the level of these guys musicianship...

This thread fails because it's already been done. The O.P bit off my thread and even posted the same song.

I have their albums, and yeah I like them too. All I had ever heard from them was Venus, but after getting their albums, they had quite a bit of good stuff.

Come on. Lets get some more great songs up in here.
The 1960s and the time especially from 1963-1973 will go down as the greatest years in American Soul, Rock and Popular music.

Not a pop hit, faggot.

I understand you were trying to stay true to your hipster image by posting a VU song, but the Velvet Underground is pop as much as Reo Speedwagon is Punk Rock.
