Oscar Robertson vs Kobe Bryant, in their primes. Who you pick? I choose Oscar.

You're right, I see where you're going with this.

MJ vs. Kobe is a no contest. MJ wins 100% of the time.

Oscar Robertson vs. Kobe is much more fair.

I'd take Oscar as well, though I'd have to think about it.

Not really that close tbh.

Robertson- 25.7 ppg, 9.5 assts, 7.5 rbds, 485 FG%

Bryant- 25.3 ppg, 4.7 assts, 5.3 rbds, 455 FG%

Pretty clear who the better player is.

If you look at the game strictly from a stat boy's perspective. Some fans aren't strictly stat chimps but admittedly this is probably 1% of the general NBA fan base.

I saw the error in my ways of making this topic once I saw the new 2k11 commercial where Kobe is all giddy inside at MJ's return, basically sucking his dick in that commercial.

I suggest you study the history of the game and the pace it was played at then vs now. You can't compare stats across eras. Different game back then and also much different competition. It's like saying Wilt was twice as good as Duncan because he was pulling down twice as many boards. Or that Wilt was a lot better than Jordan because he scored 50 a game which Jordan was never able to approach.

I can provide some advanced stats (adjusted for pace) but I thought Lakers fan hated those kind of stats. Besides Robertson shot 485 FG% in an era where the average was something around the low 400/ high 300's.

What you can compare is winning and losing.

Robertson only won one ring in his career with Kareem. Who gives a shit about stats if you aren't winning?

All I see now is Jordan being used like a crash test dummy those two years in D.C.

Just sad.
