In addition to being the very definition of a contradiction, how ultra lame is this?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Favre, though, insisted he won't put his pride in the record over the sake of the team.
"I'm very proud of the streak, but it probably should have ended a long time ago," Favre said, adding: "Whether it ends this week or it ends at the end of the year, it ends, and I will always be proud of it."

What happens if Farve wants to play but Chili says no? Does Favre say fuck you and suit up and go out onto the field? lol

Gee Favre, so you're admiting you hogged a starting position over players who could have given your team(s) a much better chance to win.
Somethin to be real proud of.
tbh i really hope the streak ends this week so manning can eventually break it but i dont see whats stopping favre for going in for one handoff and then leaving the game if it means so much to him

I wouldn't have a problem if he came in for the first series to keep the streak alive. Say what you want about Favre, but he's one tough motherfucker.

Seeing Manning break the streak would be sad, TBH..Manning doesn't scream "tough" at all..

Manning to break the record in 2016? :lmao good luck!

Manning played with a broken jaw. Go fuck yourself. He's missed one snap in his entire career not counting when he's been yanked early for kicking too much ass.

inb4 or tanking games when playoff seeding is locked in

The streak is great and all, but Favre is a better posterchild for it than Peyton Manning..who the fuck looks at Peyton Manning and thinks, "damn, that man is tough"..
who the fuck looks at Tim Tebow and thinks, "NFL messiah"..
fixed

which would make it even more meaningless then it already is.
No one is questioning his toughness. A fabricated streak is hollow tho.
Ditto Cal Ripken and his phony streak. Many a game his replacement should have been given a shot. Virtually all of one season.

Farve is tough but that would be fucking horrible. If you can suit up and play then do so but doing so for a fucking record is beyond lame.

I was thinking about that too. Put him in for the first play, run a sweep to Peterson then take him out. I don't think Favre would even stoop that low. At some point those clowns in Minnesota are gonna have to respect the game

I think you're overstating it. This isn't like letting a one-legged girl score a layup to set a record. Favre already owns the record by a wide margin. He's not taking anything away from anyone to do it. If I'm his coach, I'm putting his ass in for as long as he can go, especially if he's going to be ready to play the whole game next week.
That said, I could give a shit whether Minnesota actually wins a game or not, so maybe I'm not the best person to be coaching them. :)
