totally dead this year, actually the whole board seems to be slowing down.
people know the Spurs aren't contenders, aren't relevant anymore. so there's just not much to talk about, not much to get excited about, not much reason for fans of any team to log onto ST and read/post.
and I guess the fact that Texas and the NFL Cowbows suck this year doesn't help matters either
sad times for ST :depressed
But at least there's still BSU! now also one of the few top teams that doesn't run a total gimmick offense dependent on nothing but speed and/or size.
Fuck every offense where the only read the QB makes is whether to hand off, run it himself, or throw to his one passing option.
I hate Auburn/Oregon style offenses more than I could ever hate any team, player or coach. THAT ISN'T FOOTBALL, and I hope, god I hope, that BSU will be able to put one of those teams in their place come bowl season. though the thought of BSU trying to stop Cam Newton is quite terrifying.

I, for one, would enjoy watching Boise State try to stop Cam Newton.

Texas fans left because UT is terrible, and aggie fans decided to start posting because of that. now all the talking going on is "fran vs sherman" bullshit.

Patently untrue. I rarely go onto t-sip circle jerk threads save to drop a prediction or two.

integrity. its impossible to go 14-3 for weekly pics, when there are only 14 games to choose from.

FWIW there was over 1,000 heads viewing the spurs forum alone during the game tonight. that is quite a bit.

cry me a fucking river. I love watching BSU play, and have pulled for them time and again over the years, but you are single-handedly making me sour on the Broncos. I really hope you aren't representative of the BSU fan-base
As for your tearful take on REAL FOOTBALL, what exactly is 'real' football then? Should every team run the exact same offense? Have a cracker for a QB? Line up in the pro set or the I on every down? Gimmee a goddamn break.
Is real football running the statue of liberty or the hook and ladder? Is real football flea-flickers and reverses on KO returns? BSU runs as many or more trick plays as anyone in the fucking nation, so apparently that's okay but running a zone read isn't. Shall we return to the wishbone and '3 yards and a cloud of dust'? Is that real football? Leather helmets maybe?
What fuck-nuts like you don't realize, is that everything with the Auburn offense starts with the veteran O-line, which has pretty much owned every defense it's faced. This fact has been obscured by Cam Newton and Auburn's big play skill players. You would be hard pressed to find a consistently successful 'gimmicky' offensive unit that doesn't have a very physical, dominant O-line, and that is exactly what Auburn has. Practically every team Auburn has faced has walked away saying that they were surprised how "tough" and "physical" that unit was.
So keep praying to your god (who btw, probably doesn't give a shit about football, and definitely doesn't give a shit about you or your prayers) that BSU goes undefeated and so does Auburn. I relish the thought of the Tigers finally being the ones to show you smurf-turfers what SEC football is all about

whoa there! calm down, nobody is crying about Auburn, Oregon etc.
I'm saddened by a very slow board, and was throwing out my disgust for these strategy-less offenses as something that might spawn a little conversation here.
and nothing you say invalidates my point, you are mostly missing the point. Auburn doesn't beat anybody with strategy, auburn wins only by running over you, Oregon wins only by running round you, boring :sleep
they don't have to read and react to defenses, trick defenses, take what defenses give them, the game is dumbed down to a "tackle Cam Newton" drill, boring, not football.
I don't care of it's the O-line, the QB, RB, or even a WR that the team throws 10 WR screens to in a game, when a team has players that can beat defenses even when the defenses know exactly what's coming, every single play, that's hardly football, and definitely not worth watching. This is the main reason I still like NFL Football more than College, there are rarely any unstoppable players in the NFL, NFL games are won above the neck.
so, Go Bama, Go Oregon St. Go USC, etc. take down these cancers of College football!
:toast
oh, and that's pretty funny I'm making you hate BSU. you let fans effect you like that?
I actually dislike most other BSU fans, they're usually aggressive obnoxious homers who actually think BSU could win the SEC if they played in the SEC :lmao:lmao:lmao

Only strategy that matters is winning. Boise may do it different but its no more "real football" than anyone else. I like Boise but their style of play isn't any better than anyone else's. It might appeal to some more than others but that doesn't make anyone else less legit. Boise wins with the system they have because it works for them...if it didn't and they could win playing like Bama or Auburn or whoever, they would. They would run whatever system works, just like the rest of college football.

Fans of teams that play on blue football fields shouldn't say anything about someone's style of play not being football. :downspin:

style of play?
Lol no, you have use that term because terms like strategy don't apply to auburn.
and yes, anyone with Cam and that OL would also just run over teams, why not? you or I could coach that team and be undefeated right now, that's the whole point, there's nothing impressive about it, no real accomplishment, and it's exceptionally boring to watch, the same basic plays over and over

Boring to you doesn't make it so and vice versa. If Chris Peterson could win ball games with Cam Newton bowling over people, he would do it.
Again, bottom line is winning, period. Right now, Boise and Auburn are doing just that.

So I'm guessing you didn't like the Spurs from 03-07. All they did was run the same basic plays over and not being flashy enough. Too boring.

"flash" was never even remotely part of my arguement. in fact, to me, dunks and the ability to just power/speed your way to the rim for a dunk is the most boring aspect of basketball, having to actually scheme your way around a D is more impressive and fun to watch, the Lebron/Shaq types are boring and bad for basketball.

College forum hit a new peak last year after 2 years of drudgery under the mookie watch.
This year still ain't half bad, I'm not posting too much because my team licks taint and I have absolutely no room to talk smack to ANY TEAM, not even Aggie. Everything I say can be reflected back on me 1000x over.
Besides, I think a lot of people are waiting for ncaa basketball season :smokin

dude, so what if you say some shit that is reflected back on you. It's a message board. Do you worry that much about what people think about you who post here?
college football is infinitely interesting, there's always something to discuss. I'll try to start a few more threads that have a general appeal.
BTW, when you feel like releasing some smack, just fall back on UTSA. They're always there when you need em'
