One other nugget from pregame: Pop all but rules out Splitter for Saturday's NOLA game, but says he might be good to go after that.

One thing to remember is that Splitter didn't play in the preseason so expectations should be tempered.

Splitter should talk to Mike Finley and find out how much benefit there is to getting massages. Esp the ones in Pop's jacuzzi.

Luckily, the Spurs next opponent, the Hornets, only have two competent big men, but still, the Spurs are down to three bigs, two of which they're trying to limit their minutes (although this early and after two days rest, for one game it's not that big a deal if they have to play a lot). Be prepared to see the Blair-Simmons big duo.

Bring in Splitter vs the Clips. It will be a good eye opener for him when he gets punked by Griffin. I hope Tiago makes me eat crow though.

Not that it means too much, but Garrett Temple is flat dominating Alonzo Gee is this 2-on-2 game. And B Simmons can't guard Splitter. #spurs

Pop: Splitter could make debut Monday night against the Clippers (http://blog.mysanantonio.com/spursnation/2010/10/31/pop-splitter-could-make-spurs-debut-monday-night-against-the-clippers/)
by Tim Griffin

Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said Sunday that Tiago Splittler will accompany the team on its upcoming road trip and could see action in Monday’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers.

...“He’ll make the trip and there’s a chance,” Popovich said about the possibility of Splitter playing Monday night.

I simply don't care about Splitter playing right now. I've had enough reading this crap. The guys that are playing need to play better defense and be held accountable for this piss poor play on the defensive end of the court. Pathetic defense to start the season as a team.

Could we see Tiago Splitter tonight? “There’s a chance.” (http://www.48minutesofhell.com/)
by Andrew A. McNeill
48 Minutes of Hell

Fingers crossed. Everyone rub your lucky rabbit’s feet. Don’t step on the cracks on the sidewalk. Whatever you do for good luck, do it.

We mentioned it last week (http://www.48minutesofhell.com/tiago-splitter-could-play-monday-vs-clippers), and it’s still in the cards. According to the Express-News, Tiago Splitter traveled with the team to Los Angeles — well, he would’ve done that anyway — and could play tonight (http://blog.mysanantonio.com/spursnation/2010/10/31/pop-splitter-could-make-spurs-debut-monday-night-against-the-clippers/) against the Clippers.

Hey, I'd love to be wrong.. but knowing Pop, it seems like he won't throw him out there big minutes in his debut immediately coming off an injury. 18-28 minutes doesn't sound anywhere near "limited" when it comes to Pop.

Dude this guys is the best center over seas for the last few yrs, hes going to get 15 minutes at least unless he is a foul magnet, pukes from being out of shape, or injures himself. Anderson's first game minutes were substantial albeit weak at that position. With Bonner out I see a similar need for size, especially against the Clippers athleticism. Depending of foul trouble I go for minimum 18 minutes

Do not make a quick comparison of tonight's Tiago performance with Luis Scola's current performance. It won't be fair for Splitter.
