The San Antonio Spurs understand the true meaning of victories in the ever so changing of Nba competition. It wasn't too long ago when Nba analysts proclaimed the Spurs most dangerous after the so called rodeo rode trip. It was during this time that a Pop coached Spurs team would turn the switch.

This year? Expect a high energy bill.

After a shocking, quick, Nba exit delivered by the hands of the Phoenix Suns in last years Nba Playoff campaign, the Spurs realize how important seeding has become.

But wait didn't the West get weaker?

With a possible lockout looming at the end of the season, the Spurs will be more serious. More focused. More relaxed.

Relaxed? Yeah relaxed.

Believe it or not the Spurs chances of getting past the Laker girls, the Ponies, the Cheat, and the rest of the improved competition will be on how relaxed this team plays around each other. Richard Jefferson, Tiago Splitter, and Anderson will have to ffigure out how to fit in the team without disrupting the chemistry. If they can all learn their roles quickly and efficiently, they may very well provide the finishing touches to what could be the last chapter of the three amigos.

Tonight we saw a team who is focused. Hungry and determined to get back to the top. A team with all the pieces and the most firepower at their disposal to be someone to be reckoned with.

The Spurs have listened to the call.

The season is here, the season is now...just don't forget to leave the switch on.

We'll see if Pop is really going to take this new philosophy of "winning games" seriously.

Which means essentially he needs to curb his tendency toward endless lineup/rotation permutations, manage a way to get Duncan enough rest during the season so he doesn't have to miss games, stop playing so much small ball, and also overplaying Bonner.
