17,9, 24, and tonight 17 with NO TURNOVERS. 16.8 apg with 3.5 topg

I know it's only been 4 games, but I can't think of anyone eclipsing this in recent years. I think it's safe to say he'll lead the league in assists this year, and I think we're witnessing him transcend into the best passer in the game.

For me he's the best PG in the game because he facilities the offense so well. Pass-frist point guards surpass score-first point guards I feel.

He's not the best because there are other pass first PGs who can score when needed like D-Will, Nash, and CP3. Rondo can't. If he could, then he would score more. Now Rondo does play better defense than all 3.

the rondo of current version looks just like the prime steve nash minus shooting.

I pointed out in the last Rondo assist thread there was a huge assist to field goals ratio. Celtics had about 75% of field goals as assists, and Knicks 66%. Not saying the assists are being inflated, just saying that one game looked odd. If anyone cares, do some research, check out what the scorekeepers are calling assists.

He's arguably the best player in the Eastern Conference.

He's by far my most favourite player outside of Kobe. He works on his jumper to keep the D honest and mix it up, then he'll be an allstar for years to come. Now Bean Town is the best possible team for him though. A great Post in KG, shooters in Ray and Pierce plus a banger like Shaq, Perkins and Baby.

He's just a thoroughbred. A pure winner. He knows it, and he honors that knowledge.

He is lucky to be in this celtic's team.

KG, Pierce and Allen have all 3 a great game to be assisted. They are all 3 great catch and shooter.

KG for example is assisted on 82% on his field goals last year, 74% the year before.
OTOH Duncan is assisted only 61% and Gasol only 58% because they dribble before shooting.
If you give this Boston team to any PG in the league, they win 2 or 3 apg on their average.

That's also why Deron apg will drop this year.
AI was assisted only 45% last year and Boozer 74%
We will see if Rose apg rise a lot and Deron's apg drop...

Rondo is a good pass first PG but he would be at 7 or 8 apg in any other team.

A winner until you race him in a game of HORSE or against the Lakers in the NBA Finals.

But, did you see that little prick run for the arc at the end of Game 7?

He can ride those HallOFamer vets to his little assist records. Dude still can't hit a wide open jumper reliably and Westbrook made him look like a pedestrian when dignity was on the line.

Last time "the line" was in play was in June. Westbrook was already in a hole where Kobe put him. Perkins don't go down, 21, & we're not havin' this conversation.

If Perk don't go down then Sheed don't turn on his Lakerkiller switch.

agree that he is lucky to be in Celtics. Prime Nash would average 20apg+ in that team. But he is damn good and definitely top 5 pg in the league.

But when teams start daring him to shoot, what will happen?

Yesterday C-Webb said that here are more talented PGs or better shooting PGs than Rondo, but Rondo and Nash are the only pure playmakers today

He's already beaten the Lakers in the NBA Finals.
