Kings calling this a rivalry game. I see them making some noise in the regular season, and make the 8th seed in the playoffs. 4 of the last 5 rookie of the years are in the western conference and all of them have been surrounded with talent.

Danger game tonight.

Lakers on BTB, and the Kings will be pumped for this one. Sac has assembled quite a bit of talent. This isn't their year but they'll beat a lot of great teams this season along the way.

I give LA no greater than 50/50 to win this one.

Kings aren't that good on the boards, and Lakers have been destroying opponents in that area - will be interesting to see if that trend continues. Landry always play decent against L.A. though..

The Lakers have a bench this year. BTB games are not really a factor - at least not this early in the season. PJ has stated that he wanted the Lakers to start blowing teams out. Therefore I expect them to come out focused and ready to play. Lakers by 13.

This team just has a different "feel" to it. It seems like this team is still in only the 2nd or 3rd gear and they are blowing teams out.

The confidence is through the roof. Every single player is confident in each other. The guys ALL like each other.

I am not sure this team is going to lose more than 17 or 18 games this year. Once they really turn up the defensive intensity in the later portion of the year and the playoffs...look out. They are DEFINITELY not playing to their capabilities on defense right now (and I am PERFECTLY ok with this...they have earned this right after two titles...this is a marathon).

This just feels like it is going to turn into a VERY special year.....*health permitting*

BTW, Sacramento will never be relevant with the way they're building their team IMO..they have a lot of potential talent for the future, but Tyreke Evans is not a guy that can play championship team ball IMO, he needs to have an Iverson-like team built for him..they should be building with defensive players/finishers/shooters around him, instead of having a few other players that like having the ball IMO..

They should make some trades..

Remember 2006? "Kobe's old, worthless without Shaq and slowing down. Lebron and Wade are going to win 8 out of the next 10 championships." :lmao

well it was true if it didn't get Pau via collusion Kobe would be in the bulls or some shit like that and the lakers would have plummeted into mediocrity and you wouldn't be posting on this forum

Add Carl Landry to Lebron's list. :lmao

"He's the best player in the game right now," Landry said. "He went out there and played hard, carried his team throughout the night and gave them the win."

Defense seemed to be in a little malaise last night. The Lakers are capable of smothering defense, but this wasn't the case for a good majority of the game agianst the Kings. Can't be mad at a 5-0 record and a triple-double that Kobe messed around and got. The Odom scare was enough to make me take notice, but he seemed to be alright. He's been playing out of his glucose-ridden mind since FIBA, so, losing him would've been 10x worse than starting the season w/o Bynum. How much longer do the Kings stay in the Sacred Cow Palace? I'm guessing not that much longer...contraction or moving to a new locale will probably be the fate given to the Kings.

So much of defense is effort and I think we'll see them conserve that effort quite a few times this season. As the ESPN announcers really hammered on last night, this team is pretty old by NBA standards. I don't have a problem with them taking it a little easy, even if it costs several games this year. They'll turn it up in the playoffs and big games.
