Question has been posed in the thread title.

I was wondering this also. Or even 5 points in ANY 1.1 second period of play?

Xylus:

1st: Sorry about the Suns not re-signing Amare

2nd: Sorry for having the only team that could trade Barbosa and actually get worse off on the court and financially (Hedo)

3rd: What happened? I missed it...

1. Me too...

2. Me too...

3. a. 3.7 seconds left in the game, OJ Mayo is fouled, Grizz up 96-94.
b. Mayo hits both FT's, 98-94. Again, 3.7 seconds left in the game.
c. Ball is inbounded to Jason Richardson who banks in a 3-pointer with 1.1 seconds left. 98-97, Grizzlies.
d. On the inbounds at half-court, Rudy Gay wisely bounces the ball off of Grant Hill's back, but Nash manages to foul him with 0.4 seconds left.
e. Gay misses first free throw, makes the second accidentally. He meant to intentionally miss the second to run time off the clock, but accidentally made it!
f. Suns inbound with 0.4 seconds left. Grant Hill throws a half-court lob pass to Jason Richardson, who lays it up into the rim mid-air, tying the game at 99 and forcing OT. 5 points in 1.1 seconds.

Unreal. I might have to watch that on LPBB. Congrats on the win. I wonder, what is your take on Nash's play?

Is it something that you should be worried about (decline) or is is the players around him?

I don't think Nash is on the decline, I just think he's struggling to find his game without Amare Stoudemire to pass to. As we all know, Stoudemire is one of the best finishers in the game, and everytime Nash gets into the lane, it looks like he's not sure what to do with the ball. There were times where Amare would catch the ball even if the pass was ridiculous, and Nash would look like a genius. Now, he has no one who is nearly as competent on the pick-and-roll, and his passing game is suffering because of it.

Also, because Nash doesn't seem to trust anyone nearly as much as he trusted Amare, he's taking far too many shots in the 4th quarter, instead of trusting guys like JRich, Hill, Dudley, and even Turkoglu. All 4 of those guys can hit clutch shots, but Nash is doing way too much.

As a result, Goran Dragic is suddenly looking like the better point guard because he isn't forcing anything like Nash is. Goran looks smoothly confident, hitting big shots, making incredible passes, and controlling the game. That's not to say that Dragic is actually the better point guard, but Nash is trying to figure out how to run this team with a largely different roster, while Dragic is running the bench to perfection.

I can't recall the last time I was this excited by a regular season game in November.

Notice how much of the lower bowl was empty by this time. No one thought this game was going into overtime. We were down 4 with 3.7 seconds left. It was absolutely unbelievable.

Interesting. It is always hard to tell with older players when they start to play worse than you expect. Whether it be because of injury or change in personnel or whatever, it is a fine line between genuine decline and struggling.

The thing that surprises me I guess is that Nash is making low BBIQ mistakes. I guess that is why I lean towards genuine decline as the explanation for his play. I just refuse to believe that he would make these type of decisions because he is struggling to trust new players or because he can't figure out how to adjust the new teams style.

What a pass from Grant. That was literally perfect. Nice play by J-Rich (who in hindsight was a very good trade), but Grant's pass was perfect.

That was almost as cool as the play Orlando ran on the Spurs where Dwight soared in and scored (really hard to watch as a Spurs fan though..)

I might be wrong, it might be genuine decline. But when you play with a guy like Amare for 6 years, especially when Nash's game was as intertwined with Amare's as it was, and especially as a pass-first point guard with a true finisher, it's very difficult to recover right away when that two-man game is no longer available. Nash-to-Amare was our fucking bread-and-butter, and it's gone. We're a completely new team as a result.

I think Nash will eventually figure out more efficient ways to set up his new teammates, but it will definitely take time. Just like it did last year. :)

I stopped watching in the 3rd (past my bed time). Should've hung on LOL. But regarding Nash, ya they lack an elite finisher for him to feed. It's basically like if you broke up Stockton and Malone. Warrick is fun to watch, but I view him as more of a shawn marion minus the rebounds type player. Turkolu or whatever did ok, but I still hate his signing.

After bouncing the ball of Grant Hill's back Gay could've try to run away with the ball but instead just stood there waiting for the foul.

Then on the free throws he shoots the first and second the exact same way, if it wasn't for his reaction I wouldn't tell that he tried to miss it.

The last play was pretty good especially the pass by Grant Hill.

That was a Duke pass from Grant Hill.
LOL at the fans who left thinking MEM already had the win.

Nash looked winded last night and was doing all the work. If he keeps on that pace, he will be fatigued on the last stretch of the season. Hedo came alive though with his offense but he still looks somewhat disinterested right now. One good thing is Warrick is benefiting from Nash's pick n roll passes.

Rudy Gay is really too good like this:

lol

Amazing play by J-Rich, when I saw that Grizzlies where up by 4 points I said to myself that it's over but after an hour I was surprised when I saw on Yahoo! Sports that Suns win over Grizzlies. :o 3.7 seconds left down by 4 but they still managed to win. :o That's pretty awesome. But when I watched the highlights, I remember Derek Fisher. lol

But when I watched the highlights, I remember Derek Fisher. lol

The play was more of a Dwight Howard lob pass dunk to beat the Spurs with less than a second left too.
