seriously. last season they were a lottery team, and they looked even worse live (i watched them play the nets (12-70) last season, they lost that game by 30). they didn't made any drastic changes during the off season, and chris paul is still the only slight above average player on that scrub team. srly, wtf happened to them?

did first ballot hall of famer trevor ariza made them a contender all of a sudden? LMAO

Houston hasn't won a game and they are giving up 114ppg. That doesn't happen had they kept Riza.

Tbh its because they're healthy and motivated, especially CP3. After their breakout season a few season ago they ran into injuries and they don't have the depth for that. CP3 is also playing like the early season MVP.

I was going to ask the query: who have they played? But, they ain't played us or the Celtics so it's a moot point. It doesn't matter. At this early juncture the league is pedestrian after us and Boston.

1. Chris Paul
2. That white 7' footer Smith guy
3. Okafor started owning
4. Ariza shooting above 35% (38% in fact)

They will come to earth. They lack depth, specially in the FC...

Hawks are running out of air as well..Monday to be exact.

Thank goodness the Show won't have to frequent the Rose Garden tomorrow. Easy money.

Yep, would not have been pleasant going up there.

It's a sweet schedule.

Many reasons. New coach, new GM, 9 new players with two new starters and a revamped bench. This team is totally different from last year's team.

D-West is healthy, in better shape and playing much better defense.

CP3 is healthy and playing at a high level.

Okafor has drastically improved as well with his defense and rebounding and offensively as well.

Ariza gives the team a legit defender on the perimeter and can occasionally hit the big three.

Belinelli gives the starting unit a three-point threat and decent ball-handler/passer

The bench is vastly improved as well. Moving Thornton to the bench helps, plus the additions of Jason Smith and Willie Green. I think Bayless will make an impact once he adjusts to the team.

The team is a playoff team and a possible top 2-4 seed even without a legit backup center at this team. How important is having a backup center when making the playoffs or having a high seed? It's not going to be that important in that instance.

However, this team is missing a couple of pieces as far as being a title contender. One is more frontcourt depth. The other is a legit scoring threat from the perimeter. Someone like a Ginobili. Iggy wouldn't make much of a difference on this team, but a guy like Ginobili or Jason Richardson could put this team over the hump.

If Bogut is out, the Hornets should win. Without Bogut, they wouldn't have a true advantage over the Hornets. They also played last night so the back-to-back games shouldn't affect the Hornets too much. Still, it's a long flight to Milwaukee from NOLA. The team could just come out flat. If Bogut plays, this will be tough game and possible loss.

They look mighty impressive, but it is only 5 games into the season. There have been way too many instances like this where the unbeatable looking team really isn't that good. Just let the season progress and then we will see if they are for real as it seems.

People were saying that a couple of years ago and they ended up (I think) a game away from finishing as the number one seed, the Hornets will be a top 4 seed this year. And no matter how much folks like to hate on CP3 here, when healthy he's without a question a top 5 player in the league, maybe even top 3.

Hornets have really been a surprise especially in that division ...... we'll see where they are after 25 games.

they learned the unwritten rule and started to bribe the refs this season, like how most other teams have been doing for years.
