11-07-2010, 01:09 PM
About the Lakers: The Lakers are 6-0 for the fifth time in franchise history and for the third time under coach Phil Jackson. Their best start without a loss is 11-0 in 1997-1998 ... Gasol and Bryant have scored 20 points in the first six games, becoming the first tandem to do so since 1979-1980, when San Antonio's Larry Kenon and George Gervin did it seven times to open the season ... Bryant this season became the franchise leader in minutes played and now ranks first in Lakers history in points, minutes and three-pointers, and second in games, steals, field goals and free throws ... Odom leads the NBA in field goal percentage (.700), hitting 35-of-50 shots ... Gasol won the season's first Western Conference player of the week award, averaging 25.3 points, 10.3 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.0 blocks in three games .. Fisher has played in 419 consecutive games, second among active players behind Portland's Andre Miller (619). Fisher has started 297 consecutive games, top among active players.

Lakers buzz: The Lakers weren't exactly convincing in their last game, a come-from-behind victory over Toronto ...The Blazers aren't the only team awaiting the return of an injured center.

Blazers buzz: Roy is coming off a 26-point night on Saturday, which moved him past Buck Williams and into 15th on the franchise scoring list. Roy has 5,688 points in four-plus seasons. Up next is Calvin Natt (5,738). ... The Blazers are tied with Miami with the most wins by 10 points or more this season (4) ... Portland will complete its third of 22 back-to-back games tonight. They are 2-0 this season on the back end, after going an NBA-best 15-4 last season.

Series history: The Blazers have won four of the past five meetings against the Lakers, including the last meeting in the Staples Center. Last season, Roy led the Blazers with a 17.0 point scoring average. All-time the Lakers lead 109-86, including a 70-27 record in Los Angeles.

Injuries: Lakers center Andrew Bynum (right knee) is out and center Theo Ratliff (left knee) and forward Luke Walton (right hamstring) are probable. Blazers centers Greg Oden (left knee) and Joel Przybilla (right knee), guard Elliott Williams (right knee) are out and guard Rudy Fernandez (back) is questionable.

it's nothing....we'll look fashionable kicking that Blazer ass 2nite...

you see we're the gift that keeps on giving...when we bless players it has far reaching consequences...for example...of the remaining undefeated teams they all feature former Lakers that have recently won titles...: Lakers being the obvious undefeated team, New Orleans (Ariza), Atlanta (Powell).

It's the Kobe effect upon the league...those Bastards in N.O and ATL should be on their knees thanking us....

I blame Phil and Farmar ...
Phil becuase our bench roles were not defined. He left the PG position open and Brown, Jordan and Sasha just jacked up shots.
Jordan gets blame because it was his job to lose and he lost it. Too much ego and too little running the triangle offense. Kobe can break it because he is THAT good ..Farmar is not.

now the bench knows their roles and Kobe's recovery and Bynum's absence has allowed us to gell quicker. Also, Team USA did wonders for Odom.

I bet on both the Celtics and Hornets to beat the Heat on the moneyline, so I've won big money on them so far..

I've missed out on a few bets the last few days though..I fucking hate when I do that..I'm about to pick on a game I feel good about, I have it set up and then I'm about to click it, then I change my mind..obviously the bet would have won..trusting your instincts is so big in gambling, I've always known that, yet I still have trouble going with it at times..

I bet on the Lakers, because they seem to be on a mission so far, and the Raptors are terrible..there weren't any mismatches Toronto should have exploited..obviously the Lakers came out flat on D though, they didn't really take the game seriously, which killed me..

Instinct plays a big role when you first look at the Gameday spreads/ O/U's...then you follow it up with a little research/stat-checking if you so please. The Heat and Magic are methodically destroying inferior opponents, and both of them have a lot to prove, so they're a safe bet most of the time. WC matchups are great for taking the Over. Gasol now = Duncan in his prime

Duncan now = (7/10) Gasol which is good enough to fuck around with a couple of teams in the west in the first few rounds, but not championship or even western conference championship material.
