SAN ANTNOIO - San Antonio Silver Stars forward Kendra Wecker suffered a
torn anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee in her WNBA debut with
the 30 seconds remaining in the first half of the Silver Stars game
against the Houston Comets on May 21.
After meeting with team doctors this morning an MRI confirmed the tear.
Wecker will undergo surgery on June 8 and will likely miss the remainder
of the season.
Wecker played 11 minutes and scored four points before leaving the game.
The Silver Stars first round draft pick (fourth overall) was the 2005

earned AP All-America First Team honors.
The Silver Stars are back in action on May 24 when they make the trip to
Detroit to take on the Shock. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:30 CT. Fans
