Yes, the game is a day away but I got another hot tip for ya'll. The opening line on this game is Miami (-7). Keep an eye on that, and if it doesn't wander too far north then jump on it. The Heat were just embarrassed in an epic collapse last night and need to rebound right away. The Celtics gave them a rude awakening to start the season--and despite Wade's worst performance ever--the Heat still hung around. Miami needs to win this game convincingly to quiet the doubters, and I think they're more than up for the challenge. If the spread doesn't change too much, bet the Heat.:toast

To a great extent you are right, but I have much more respect for our old rivals, the Celtics, whom we have fought in the trenches, than for this ready made team called the Heat.

Don't get me wrong, I despise the Celts (Like any Good Laker would), but this should give you an idea of just how much disrespect there is for those boys down in Miami probably not so much for D-Wade but for Bron and his softie counter part Bosh.

Couldn't give a fuck on the outcome. Although, I will admit that watching the Heat fail is immeasurably enjoyable for some profound reason and hasn't gotten old in the slightest.

The Lakers aren't threatened by Celtic wins anyhow. Not with the knowledge that they're clearly the superior team even when Drew is playing on one knee the entire series.

This is going to be a tough loss for whoever does lose. Boston has loaded up their frontline with the Lakers in mind. If Celtics lose it may be because Miami found the answer to the one perceived Heat weakness. If Heat lose they have to wonder just when they will gel. Should be interesting to watch their gameplans unfold.

Of course most the full season and the playoffs lie way ahead, but neither team wants to lose this one.

I watch a lotta ball.. and I've never seen Chris Bosh dominate anything. Not even in the Olympics. I only think of him as an all-star because people keep saying he is.

Before the breakthru in '85 it would be unfathomable to cheer for the Celtics. But that breakthru, reinforced this past June gives me a warm feeling when contrasting them with any other legit opponent.

I don't want any upstarts in the winner's circle.

but I root for no one ever, other than the Lakers. I thoroughly enjoy watching the competition between 2 teams and the demise suffered by either would be thoroughly enjoyable to me. Miami has fallen behind or been close in almost every 1st quarter this season, because of the fact that they start Arroyo and Anthony, 2 completely useless players..it forces them to play 3 vs. 5, and it puts them in a hole..

It's amazing how Spoelstra hasn't figured this out, even though it has been 8 games..

Starting House or Jones, or even Chalmers would be a better option than Arroyo, since he doesn't fit at all with the starting unit..

Starting Z or Haslem makes a lot more sense than starting Anthony..

Unless you know what he said it's hard to say it's a stretch.

I didn't like the rule change but now that it's here it's kind of nice to see much less complaining. It might also lead to better officiating too. If the refs don't need to be thinking about who is going to yell at them and cuss them out after they make a call they might be more focused on doing their job.

HarlemHeat37
11-11-2010, 09:00 PM
Lebron and Wade have been fine together, that's one of the only reasons Miami even has a good record right now..

Their problems are:

- Interior D/No C..
- Bosh is playing poorly this season..
- Coaching..
- No Mike Miller..
- Lack of offensive chemistry..
- Starting games 3 vs. 5..

Don't give them a pass. They have "3 of the top 10" players in the game. I could coach them and they should win like 69 games.

They have major flaws, you right:

DWhistle is a player that needs the ball in his hands to be effective
LeHype is DWhistle on steroids with a slightly better skillset
RuPaul is a horrible 3rd fiddle. He does not have do well unless he is a 1st option
Y'all don't have a bench
Y'all don't do well against teams with size
No good PG to get the big 3 the ball (no wonder y'all went after DFish in the offseason)

The beat goes on and on. BSPN and other media pundits have all crowned you guys and disrespected the 16x champs.

Meanwhile, Beastley just dropped 42 big ones last night and y'all traded him for a 15th round pick. How you like them apples? :lol

these will be problems all season long tbh

Dampier can help the interior D..he isn't great or some kind of savior, but he's a big body that can block shots and offensive rebound..he's a big upgrade over Anthony..

If Spoelstra is the coach for the entire year, then Miami has no chance to do anything..his offensive coaching is extremely poor, and his rotations are really bad..starting games 3 vs. 5 is his fault, so if he stays there, it might be a problem all year..

Bosh is pretty much up to him..if he shows some pride and grows some balls..I wouldn't count on it, but we'll see..I've never been a fan of Bosh, but he's playing a completely different style than he did in Toronto..with the Raptors, he was a foul-drawing machine when he would get the ball..this year, he's jacking up jump shots and not even looking to drive..

I'm off the bandwagon. I don't know what I was thinking. I thought maybe this generation of players was somehow more aware of what makes a good team. They aren't. They are just like Allen Iverson, Tracy McGrady, Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O'Neal, etc. They can't adjust to each other. No matter what they do, they will be loved or hated. Get on the ground for rebounds, run off the ball, become a passer--take on a role the team needs. Use that to suprise teams. They'll never be a great team.

They need leadership, someone to calm the team down. That's not going to happen. They need defensive leadership even more than on the offensive side. They need a guy like Reggie Evans or Samuel Dalembert on that frontline. Chris Bosh is soft as they come.

They'll have to change my mind now.

Even the great Patrick Riley can't save their asses. Too many flaws. He'll take over next year around this time after Spoelstra has already done most of the heavy lifting. Plus he's older now, not much energy to engross himself into the job.

Big toe surgery. Kobe's role in getting Shaq traded. It may have paid off, but don't tell me it didn't affect on-court chemistry. You weren't watching close enough. They got angry with each other, blew off each other on the court, decided not to pass to one-another.

Personally, they made me sick. I loved that it was that team the Pistons beat in 2004 for as much as I was cheering for the Portland Trailblazers and Sacramento Kings in the early 2000s as much as seeing Ben Wallace and my hometown team win one.

They were indicative of these guys being so good, you only needed two of them, they'll bitch about each other, go to the media, blow off help from each other--they were good enough to beat teams. They were not an all-time great team.

The Heat may win 50 games this year and lose in the second round, but they could've won 65 and made the NBA Finals. The same is true of those Lakers teams. They underachieved in a bad league.

Lebron has guarded Pierce in almost every game they have played the last few years, including the 1st game this season..

They have Lebron guarding Rondo, because Rondo burned them for 18 assists or whatever in the 1st game..stupid strategy either way..

Such a poor, reactionary coaching decision...the Cavs did the same thing in the playoffs last year...after Game 4 they took LeBron off Pierce and put him on Rondo. We all know how that worked out. Pat Riley needs to takeover ASAP

Rondo has 9 assists too, so it's not even working:lol..

Trying to stop a player from getting assists is just stupid IMO..especially Rondo, arguably the quickest player in the NBA, a guy that centers his game around passing and building chemistry with his teammates..

The Spurs did it with Steve Nash in the playoffs, making him shoot, but that was against a Suns team that didn't really have a star perimeter scorer..the Celtics have Paul Pierce..

Miami isn't going to stop Rondo from penetrating anyways, they don't have any big men inside, so it's pointless either way..

Hey, I dont agree whole heartedly but I see your point. I hated the 2002 team that won a title. 2000 was the most harmonious season for those 3 peat Lakers and i enjoyed all 82 plus the race for 16. I hated the 2001 regular season but the playoffs were pure joy. I hated the entire season in 2002, for all the reasons you stated.and to me that was the only truly fractured team. Yes Kobe and shaq's beef started the year before ...but injuries kind of forced both guys to rely on the team and each other the previous season. In 2002 even the Finals were more relief that they did not blow their title chance, more than elation that we had done a great job defending a title twice.

That is why I wanted shaq gone even BEFORE 2004. he wasthe leader and that team was beyond dysfunctional by then.

Oh i agree. I hated both shaq and Kobe in 2002-2004 because i was raised on Showtime.
The reason i supported Kobe was because though an arrogant prick at least he came in shape and played hard every night. The other one dogged games and was too busy eating krispy Kremes, impreganting chicks all over the US of A and taking late surgeries. To me kobe was the lessor of two evils and to me the better chance at sustaining greatness.

side note: how come shaq doesnt get clowned for all the kids confirmed and rumored he has "fathered" (used loosely) like Kemp or antonio Cromartie? I have lived in Dallas, San Antonio and of course L.A. and San Antone is the only city that i have visited that there isnt rumors of an ill-legit shaq seed. he has em in NJ, Louisiana, and Cali and Florida ...if stories are true.

LOL, there were coming out of the woodworks after the decision now that it's time to pay the piper they went scurrying like roaches ...

Celts still need a lead Wade will NOT keep missing ...

Let me say this maybe it's tough for these guys (wade/lebron/Bosh) to get a rhythmn since they dont get the ball, touches or as many plays ranto free them up as they are used to. I know Lebron is the king of PER but he now has to be even more efficient because thewhole offense is not built around him like with the Cavs. Before he could pick and choose when to attack, be a play-maker etc. Now the decisions are not his alone. Wade could miss 2 of 10 shots and keep chucking, because would you rather Arroyo or Cook shooting?

So I am not making excuses but i think it's much harder to get arhythmn when your touches are less and you were a volume scorer. Bench players are used to going long stretches without plays being run for them. these guys are not role players they are stars ...

All the 72 wins talk is foolish for a new team in it's first year together. The big 3 are barely in their prime, this is not a win now season.

sons I don't preach this shit for my own entertainment ... the NBA is rigged as all get out ... obviously they can't COMPLETELY control the outcome 100%, but they do everything in their power to push certain teams and you're seeing a great example of that tonight.

u cryin brah?

I'm surprised you felt so confident with Baltimore on the road, tbh..

I always underestimate the Falcons too though..

Wow, what a stupid shot by Lebron..Lebron and Wade have some incredibly bad shot selection at times(not that everybody didn't know this)..
