Factors which determine team success

Hello all, I am doing an assignment for a stats class in which we have to perform a statistical research project. Originally we were asked to analyze something at work (the focus was up to us), but since many of our jobs told us that we couldn't use any info for privacy matters, the Prof said we could analyze something that we were interested in. I need factors (preferably quantitative) which contribute to team success (as defined by win percentage). The focus of my study will be how much of an effect early round draft picks have on team success. The factors I have come up with so far are:

*draft position
*total games missed due to injuries
*Hall of Famers also on team
*coaching strength (I realize that this is qualitative, but I will quantify it through a survey to come later)

I realize where I am posting this, but I would appreciate serious responses.

racial composition. blacks are born with superior talents for basketball, so a team with the most black players has to be the best. Hornets are the blackest team in this league that's why they have been playing perfectly this season.
