Mighty mighty pissing and wailing. Daily.

Tragically pompous ignorance.

Petty backbiting and recriminations come to the fore.

Hilarity and false hilarity are also committed daily.

Discussing the news such as it is...gossip.

Some interesting stuff, some interesting people, a crowd of odd ducks for sure.

Human interaction. Friends are, or might be there.

Even more rarely, an actual conversation.

Seriously Doc, what did you expect to accomplish here?

I visit this forum with a definitive goal of wasting time and my goal is always met. Mission accomplished.

Heh, speak for yourself. I am just a clever computer program, silly human. My real existance has been very comprehensively programmed as an experiment in artificial intelligence. (or artificial stupidity, depending on one's opinion of me, :lol )

This place is like the UN. A bunch of talking heads trying to bait others into saying something stupid, but all in all not even trying to accomplish a dang thing.

What could possibly be accomplished? We're all here for shits and giggles. It's stimulating in a variety of different ways, depending on the person.

Oh, Gee!!

I'm stimulated as I type this with my weak hand. :lol

It keeps us off the street; otherwise, we would all be committing violent crime against the members of the other party.

i come here because its a filter for all the bullshit news (man saves cat in tree) headlines and gets straight to the pertinent stuff. *shrugs*

I'm here to get the latest from the intelligence blogs.

Yes. We've been taught that the stimulus was a success because the actual unemployment rate exceeded what the CBO said the rate would be if the stimulus wasn't passed. It's all very logical.

We've also learned that the historic GOP victory in the midterm elections of 2010 were due to crazy, old, misinformed white people that hate a half-black president. Even though the vast majority of those defeated were crazy, old, misinformed white people.

ChumpDumper
11-11-2010, 02:51 PM
No, they were due to Democrats' not showing up.

We've also learned that some people who start threads never actually offer input or read what thay have posted. Of course they will then criticize anyone who won't read or view the youtube video...

Well, we must have accomplished something over
the years if a Vet has nothing better to do than
post here.

Kinda reminds me of Jim in College Station the
forum dentist. Does he still post anywhere.

Oh, and by the way. You spell Pelosi's/Obama's party:
Dimm-o-craps.

Now back to my: :sleep

You got the first part correct. Credit where credit is due. :hatI wouldn't call any midterm election historic though, it's all been done before and it simply depends on who feels scared enough to vote during a non-presidential election.

I heard on an intel blog that if you're constipated, just read Yoni's incontinence inducing threads. That's something an accomplishment, right?

Has anything ever been accomplished in any Spurstalk forum?

I think the more people hear opposing views on politics the less they are likely to be rigid on their own views

Is there another SpursTalk political forum that I don't know about?

Winehole23

Yeah. I tend to think just the opposite. A diversity of views makes people more stubborn.

That's what they do to save face, but the research I have seen shows that quietly people do moderate their views..

Though it has potential, the forum in currently a huge waste of time. Mainly because of some well established trolls.

I'm not registered as either Dem or GOP, but I have found myself /facepalming most of the "conservative" arguments put forth on here. I was all about conservatism back in the day, but seeing how most people go about arguing for it just really makes my dick soft about it sometimes.
