When he isn't playing well, Lakers chances in winning take a significant dip. MVPau.

Tis true...but it doesn't help that his softer side is showing up in the past three games.

You gotta give him the ball, I haven't seen him touch it in the last 3 minutes.

He's played bad today. I'm not sure he should have touched it.

They should have been rotating the ball instead of all these Kobe iso's for sure, though.

He had a 4 minutes being guarded by Al freakin Harrington and couldn't get anything but wild flips at the baskets and turnovers.

strong idiots in this thread. the guy played the ENTIRE second half in the altitude vs. denver playing msall ball.

phil should have played LO at the 5 either at the end of the 3rd or the start of the 4th to give pau a breather.

regular season tho tbh..

True. I'm glad a Laker fan finally admitted that Pau>Kobe as far as MVP of the Lakers at this point is concerned. But it also shows that Pau can be flustered at times and revert back to his old soft ways as well...

11-12-2010, 01:28 AM
its also odom's importance. was he hurt or something? I don't remember seeing him in the 4th.

Medvedenko
11-12-2010, 01:30 AM
Yeah, I didn't see Odom either in the 4th. Small hurts the Lakers once in a while and the Nuggets hit their shots late in the game. Good win by Denver. No biggie.

cant win em all. the lakers just got outplayed tonite. 29 3's? Lakers arent the warriors or the suns. another bad odom sighting........ this after fish said effort in the win vs minnesota was "disrespectful"

also denver was embarrassed against the pacers. no way they werent gonna come out passive. they were aggressive and good D by nene and arron. good win denver.

What's with Kobe shooting so much all of a sudden? The Lakers were playing a hell of a lot better as a team when he wasn't 100% :lol

Yeah...losing 8 of the last 11 up in Denver just shows the Lakers don't do well up there...oh well, two days until the Suns come to town.

Dont know the reasoning...but that is definitely a factor in them looking stagnant all of a sudden.

As if anyone ever said he wasn't.

Any team, though, you take their second best player (and he's basically 1A at this point), if he has an off night, obviously it's going to make it that much more difficult to win. Particularly when your fourth best player, who happens to share a lot of the same responsibilities as your second best player, is out and on top of that, you're playing a playoff caliber team on the road.

The Lakers were just due, though. Due for a bad shooting night, due for Gasol to not play like an MVP candidate and just plain old due for a loss. I thought they'd lose this game beforehand.

Its all good, range rovers all wood hahaha. Pau is not even a center & heavy minutes in Denver wears you out. Once Bnyum returns he'll get to go back to his real position & everything will be cruise control. Just chill back & enjoy the ride, you cant win em all.

nobody the point of the analogy is that Kobe was never the alpha dog *woof* no matter how much the media tries to make him out to be. he was shaq's sidekick, then he got to spend sometime by himself but he was incapable of making his team relevant at least LeBron was able to make it to the nba finals with similar talent (not to say LeBron is this generations MJ).

Then through collusion he was able to get Gasol and now Kobe has reverted back to his more natural role of being a sidekick.

is there anything wrong with that? not really it is just sad that Laker fans can't be proud of Kobe for being more of a Pippen than a Jordon.

You know come to think of it Paul Gasol reminds me a lot of pitcher Cliff Lee. 4 years ago his career was shit, but now in his 30s he managed some how to find his game (playing along side Kobe, Odom, Artest, and a decent 5):rolleyes

Tonight's game showed why Pau could never be the team's MVP. He was being guarded by guys several inches shorter and he played very soft. An MVP doesn't play soft games like this. When an MVP has that kind of advantage they take apart their opponent instead of flailing with the ball.

thanks for that fine analysis...that fucking Iron Mexican is stupid as fuck need to change his name to Glass Jaw mexican...couldn't properly evaluate a game or player performance to save his fucking life.

Pau reminds me of bowl of soft PHO noodles...guys pissed away Kobe's effort last tonight...with the exception of Shannon and Ron the other guys played apprehensive and Pau led the way with a brilliant Rookie performance. No way with Martin and Birdman out, he should have feasted down low on Nene...Kobe should have went for 40 and LA would have won.

to all Laker and Kobe enemies in disguise parading as Laker fans...you may resume your jerk-off sessions now. :toast

He took to many shots for his 17 points, but soft players never get 20 rpg. Gasol isn't a closer as Kobe, but he's more valuable at this point that Kobe. Just look at the efficiency numbers: 30.33 for Pau vs. 21.22 for Kobe. Not even close.

You have to watch the games not look at the stat sheets to really know what is going on. If you had actually watched the game there's no way you would say Pau played well despite have a large height advantage on everyone who defended him last night. He actually had Al Harrington defending him at times and should have destroyed him but instead flailed and fell down.

Lakers win the title in 2009 regardless of Bynum..yes, he helped guard Howard, but the disparity between the 2 teams was too much either way..

Pau sucked hard last night. Embarrassed on both ends... bad enough his defense was non-existent, but to get checked by Al Freakin' Harrington? That was ridiculous. He should have been backing him down all night long.

That said... if anyone on this team gets a pass for a bad game, it's Pau. He's played like an absolute champ this season. Everyone has a bad game every now and then. Too bad he and Kobe chose to have a bad one the same night.
