They are "safe" picks, haven't the acting range necessary (more than likely) and just aren't anywhere near as seductive as Cotillard or Blunt. They're going 'realist' with Catwoman I'm sure, so at worst she's just a really good thief who likes cats (she won't get thrown out of a 10th story window only to be brought magically back to life when cats lick her). That doesn't bother me as much as the sheer number of villains. I hate it when they try to cram in too many villains (hell, they could have left Two Face out of the last one).
