We are the best team in the league.... for now.

Hopefully it lasts, but our guys need to give 2nd half efforts like they have in the past two games for a full 48 minutes if we want a chance at going deep into the post-season.

The big 3 cant sustain that kind of effort for 48 night in and out. Really, the role players and young players need to keep filling in their roles like they have and get even more efficient. Keep winning and try to get to the playoffs in rhythm

The Hornets should be #1, Spurs #2. Hornets beat the Spurs in the AT&T Center, albeit in October.

Yeah you would like SA being on top. But the Mavs are ranked high because of their body of work. Look at who they have beaten.

The blistering Spurs are the NBA’s hottest team (http://blog.mysanantonio.com/spursnation/2010/11/18/the-streaking-spurs-are-the-nbas-hottest-team/)
by Tim Griffin

...The Spurs’ recent winning streak is rather modest compared with some of the streaks that the team has piled up during the Gregg Popovich coaching era. But it’s tied for the 14th longest in his tenure with the team.

Here’s a look at the Spurs’ top winning streaks since Popovich took over in the 1997-98 season.

No. - Streak began and ended Team who ended it

17 March 25, 2004 – May 9, 2004 @ Los Angeles Lakers (11 regular season, six playoff games)

13 Feb. 13, 2007 – March 15, 2007 @ Milwaukee

13 Dec. 5, 2003 – Jan. 3, 2004 Philadelphia

13 March 1, 2002 – March 27, 2002 @ Portland

12 May 13, 1999 – June 21, 1999 @ New York

Not sure I agree with you at all.

Duncan is averaging under 30 minutes a game this year for the first time in his career. He's also posting career lows in points because we aren't riding him in any possessions. He looked like a young Duncan last night with his post moves.

RJ is averaging 32+ a game, but he's young and not injury prone so no big deal. Same with Parker, he looks really healthy and is getting 34.5, which is a far cry from 48.

Manu is the only concern at 32+, but he looks healthier than he has since at least 2007, if not 2005, and doesn't seem to be playing at quite the helter skelter pace he normally does on the court, although he is still very active.

Dice, Blair, and Hill are all soaking up huge minutes so far. This team is healthy right now, and there's more a chance of a freak injury happening than one from fatigue IMO. Pop usually does a fantastic job managing minutes.

Basically the only person who's playing more minutes than he should be is Manu. A couple of games where we can get him 20 minutes a night and that will drop his average down and get him some rest.

IMO Manu would be the only one that is overused and it's because of necessity. Without all these minutes from Manu we would have already a handful of losses.

But he is not over exherting or banging up. Only fear would be a freak injury or stress injury. Knock on wood
