A drunk who tried to rob a Vancouver doughnut shop managed to stab himself with his knife instead, police are reporting.
Police were called to a Duffin's Donuts store around 2 a.m. PT, and found a heavily intoxicated 22-year-old man slumped on the floor, with a butcher knife.
The officers noticed a stab wound in his abdomen, and concluded that he must have fallen on the knife, Const. Jana McGuinness stated Thursday morning.
After a quick trip to hospital the man was transferred to jail and is facing a robbery charge.
Who would you try and rob a small independent doughnut shop over Tim Hortons?
