I've got these. I was looking real hard at Grado sr325i's, but the sound was way too open for me . These have ###### bass, but it's still pretty clear, which is what I like. I'll probably eventually buy some Grado's for personal use.

nb4 everyone says Dre Beats or Skullcandy.

Edit: By the way, those are Shure 840's.

Admittedly, too much for earbuds, but I figured I'd splurge. I'm happy w/ 'em, I suppose...

What kind are those, and how much do they cost?

I'm looking to buy some Sennheiser IE7 next.

Just the Bose brand earbuds, and I believe they were $99.99 when I picked 'em up.

Not that bad. You get an amp to go with it? It's kind of not worth it if you don't.

That's nothing.

I bought the headphone's above(shure 840) for 200 bucks at a headphone store, and got home, googled my headphones , and saw they were 149 on Amazon.

I probably couldn't have waited even if I saw them for 149 on Amazon. I don't mind spending a little extra if I can get them in my hands that day.I regret it the next day, though.

Had these:
http://www.gabejacobsblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/vibe2-nero-wbg.jpg
which the shoestring cord always broke, and replaced it with these:

Which I lost in L.A.

Now I use these, got em for free. I'm looking for some cans, though.

Anyone else have shitty luck with ear buds? Maybe I just need to take better care of them (I usually just toss them in a jacket pocket or backpack pocket with my ipod) but I seem to go through them really really fast (3-4 months a pair).

With that in mind, I typically don't spend more than 25 bucks on them. I got some earcandy buds for the first time at the UNM bookstore this past week because my old ones were dead and honestly they're probably the best 20 dollar earbuds I've ever had.

I got a free pair of Beats Audio that I gave to a neighbor...I use some simple ear buds that I bought for like $30 bucks and they've been as good as the Bose ones I had and have lasted for almost 3 years...

I have a pair of wireless Sennheisers that I use for gaming or watching late night nbatv while my gf is asleep.

I have a pair of samsung earbuds that came with my phone and those I primarily use.

I have a pair of big, padded skull candys that I found at a train station, but I never use them as the lettering is in pink. I tried to plaster stickers all over them to cover up the lettering, but it didn't work too well.

I also have a pair of skullcandy earbuds that I used to use.

My Audio Technica ATH-M50, still love them to death. They were on sale at the time for $120 so I jumped on them.

Yeah that kept happening to me and it kept pissing me off. So instead of buying cheap $20 ear buds, I hesitantly jumped for higher quality 'phones. I even got the extended warranty on them because the cheap brands kept dying on me so I thought the same thing was going to happen to my headphones. But man, my headphones can take a beating and the head phone jack connection and wiring, where my $20 ear buds kept breaking on me, well these are such a higher quality and it would take a lot for me to fuck them up. I kind of feel stupid for getting the warranty now but you never know.

I always seem to have more problems with the more costly pairs of headphones/earbuds. I used to love these Pioneer headphones I got off a DJ when I was attempting to spin, but I cannot remember the name of those. Oh well...

I've thought if it was a you get what you pay for thing but I'm hesitant as hell to drop some big time money on buds. We'll see.

For gym use: Whichever $20-$40 earbuds I can find in this style. Sony makes a solid one that connects/disconnects mid-cord which is extremely convenient. I'm not an audiophile when I'm gasping for Oxygen.

Well I've talked about the quality already but performance is another thing that you might have to go somewhere and try different headphones on and see if you think they're worth it. I'm not an audiophile at all but after going from cheaper brands to my current ones, I will never go back to cheaper ones. Obviously a lot also depends if you're using high quality MP3s or FLAC, etc but if you can find a place to test some out, I highly recommend it. It's also highly recommend to try them out instead of ordering them blindly because not all heads and ears are made the same.

They're great, got them for $100 at guitar center I think. I had some Sony earbuds but I guess I didnt treat them good enough and the wire came out on the right side and lost the audio.

I have a pair of Bose quiet comfort acoustics that I've had for about 4-5 years now. They still sound great.

I also have a pair of Beats by Dre: Monster Solo.

Out of the two I still prefer my Bose for the comfort and the noise cancellation capabilities.

I've got some shitty Beats By Dre Solo HD. They have no noise cancellation at all.

I have some Sennheiser HD 650's. My Schiit Lyr just came in today.

Beats by Dre have some sick lows, but I'd rather get some Sennheiser's with the same sound for a fraction of the cost.

I got the Sennheiser HD Pro 280's for a bill, and they have been solid. They hug your head too to boost the sound and isolate the sound.
