View Full Version : sons I respect the Lakers and all, but just look at their cakewalk schedule ...

sons this team hasn't beaten anyone worth a damn and LOL at their next 16 games. They only have ONE legit challenge (Utah) and of course the NBA made sure to give them a full 2 days rest beforehand. The Lakers should easily win at least 14 out of their next 16 games with a cakewalk like this ...

Regular season doesn't matter for the Lakers. They're still going to be favorites in the playoffs. They don't have to prove themselves in the regular season.

No offense, but whoever let Darko go for 23 and 16 should be kicked out of the league.

That December road trip is just brutal!

Stern will do anything to ensure a Kobe/Lebron Finals.

God Bless, son. Great thread.

BRHornet45

sons its not the Lakers fault. I respect that team for what they have accomplished and the calls they have received .... however I think even the Clippers could play the Lakers next 16 games and finish AT LEAST 10-6 ...

I disagree, I can see them winning EVERY single game, they're just that good.

Regular season doesn't matter for the Lakers. They're still going to be favorites in the playoffs. They don't have to prove themselves in the regular season.

Regular season matters when it comes to seedings. Seedings are crucial considering there hasn't been a team to win the title that has not been a top 3 team since '95 rockets did it as the 6th seed. The Lakers need to clinch one of the top 2 seeds in the west and having this cupcake schedule gives them very good chance of doing it.

We stackkkkkkkked. Too bad they blew a 10 point lead in the 4th quarter in Denver & PHX had to hit 400 three's to squeak out a win. We get the tough games when Baby Bynum is back, yezzzzir.

son even good teams like the Lakers will get bored with 16 bullshit games in a row ... that's like telling the New York Yankees to go play the Kansas City Royals 16 times ... they will get bored and lose more than they should.

Well the Lakers had one of the toughest schedules if not the toughest last year. It evens out. tbh

pretty much...I honestly would prefer the starters not play more than 30 minutes in this stretch, and force Caracter and Ebanks to log some valuable time. Would make us deeper (and fresher) in the long run

I say go for the kill during this stretch so the Lakers have some nice capital.

But the last thing they need is to burn out in December so maybe just play enough to win :lol

Just don't get too bored please :lol

Another interesting fact is Phil Jackson has never won a championship when his team hasn't finished in the top 2 for seedings.

another interesting fact - Phil Jackson has never won a championship without teams stacked full of hall of fame players.

put Phil somewhere like Milwaukee or Sacramento or somewhere that actually involves coaching and a legit challenge and I guarantee you he would fail miserably and be fired within 3 years.

Lol agreed you get no argument from me on that. Phil to me is not great x's and o's guy but more so a psychologist.

Those next 3 games for the Lakers wont be cakewalks thats for sure. The Warriors always play the Lakers tough, Chicago will be on a little high after winning in Dallas tonight, and playing at Utah is never easy...

whining. spurs and Hornets playing best ball in West right now ...that should be enough.

All this bitching and moaning about Stern is pointless. We had a shitty back2back schedule last year ...I didnt whine on this forum about it.

The Hornets are clearly the second best team in the Western Conference and the only team worthy enough to be on the Lakers radar. They also mathcup rather optimally with the Lakers.

NO should be thanking their lucky stars that Ariza has arrived. Otherwise they would be some irrelevant lottery fodder with hopes of maybe a 7/8 seed like in years past.

One things for sure. Trevor won't let CP3 quit when shit hits the fan.

I don't know why you would. Pau, historically, has shit on Timmy as a Laker and Kobe systematically shits on the Spurs during the post-season. Their November record is just a red herring.

Said nothing about fear, but the Hornets O strengths are the Lakers only glaring defensive weakness and Ariza defends Kobe as well or better than Sefo. No opposing defender in the league knows Kobe's game better than Trev. And for whatever reason, David West plays out of his mind when he sees Pau.

21_Blessings
11-20-2010, 11:11 AM
But really, it comes down to defense and matchups. CP3/Ariza/West/Okafor is a legitimate defensive force whereas the Spurs D is a bad joke if you look at their personel.

When Duncan is forced to defend Bynum, who are they going to put on Lamar/Pau? :lol Don't even get me started on the Spurs' putrid perimeter defense either. Even Pop can't fix or hide that.

Lakers are still the clear favorites in the West. Honestly, I don't think the Spurs have improved enough to beat them in a 7 game series and the Hornets haven't proven anything to say they could challenge the Lakers.

Really there is no true challenger in the West right now. Alot of good teams, but the Lakers are two-time champs until proven otherwise.

Hornets really need to shore up the frontcourt and find a dynamic perimeter scorer to have a chance against the Lakers. I like Belinelli alot, but not sure if he can be a consistent scorer. He has potential and he is clearly the best SG Paul has ever played with.

I disagree, I can see them winning EVERY single game, they're just that good.

i was thinking the samething ,but im glad a fan from a different team said it...

.take that same sched give it to another team would u say it was a cakewalk? before portland/suns game everyone was saying how that would be the test Lakers won strong.
Suns beat them second time around Jason Richardson scored 34 points and the Suns hit 22 3-pointers second most in nba history to just beat the lakers by 5 points .melo had 32 points/12 rebs..LMAO dog lakers just make it look easy ...i can argue with someone saying spurs had it easy but spurs are playing good bball now...just like hornets
it will have to be a great team that stops the lakers not one night highlighters..for a 7 game series..
what's tough for some teams may not be for others

lets see....ducan makes all time spurs leading scorer of all time.....spurs the other night created franchise history longest streak...lakers coming off back to back ....mmmmm shit looks like 2002 all over again...what a story...to meet up in wfc...sterns mouth/eyes is wide open right now...
we will see how this plays out....season still young
