Win shares are one of those new advanced stats I am not familiar with. I have seen some people swear by them and other folks mock them. Could someone please explain them and also tell us how reliable they are?

Look who is #5 on both lists, yet everyone is saying he isn't fitting in.

Win Shares
1. Pau Gasol-LAL 2.8
2. Chris Paul-NOH 2.5
3. Al Horford-ATL 2.5
4. Paul Millsap-UTA 2.4
5. Chris Bosh-MIA 2.1

Win Shares Per 48 Minutes
1. Chris Paul-NOH 0.327
2. Al Horford-ATL 0.290
3. Pau Gasol-LAL 0.263
4. Dwight Howard-ORL 0.240
5. Chris Bosh-MIA 0.239

Because like most advanced stats it has flaws ... all stats do. You can always find one to back what you feel is most importabt to a team's success ... LOL Bosh ...
