In case you were wondering, yeah, I received my championship ring. Well, in fact my girl received it. It’s a good thing to have and it was a very cool experience going through the playoffs with the Spurs even though I didn’t play at all. Just living in that atmosphere, watching how the veterans were able to handle all types of different situations… It was great. You learn a lot just being around. No matter how tough it was when they cut me, I’m going to keep good memories from my time there.

Big Dog Robinson and Kevin Willis have to rank up there somewhere... Not necessarily human victory cigars in the strict sense, but close enough IMO

the guy who was signed just to be rodman's friend

haha it was awesome, he was always cheering like crazy and waving towels in the air from the bench...whenever he went to check in the entire crowd cheered for him. i remember one time he went up for a dunk...the entire crowd was ready to blow the roof off...and he rim checked it :lmao

what a legend

Saw the title and figured this would just be a whole thread about Jack Haley. When you're a role player whose role is exclusively to be a locker room presence that your second-best player doesn't despise, actually seeing pine is the purest possible expression of "this game is all sewed up." Greatest HVC in Spurs history.

Jack Haley without a doubt!

But i remember one time with the Bulls, as a joke, the Bulls players put cob webs on Jack Haleys jersey or something like that because he never played haha

I liked the 2001 S.Kerr.

I got League Pass in Brazil that year and could see a lot of games. Every Time he got the ball in garbage time the crowd went insane to him shoot the ball

Sean Marks because you knew he would come in and light it up.

Best Human Victory Cigar moment has to go to Kevin Willis when he got called off the bench in the last minute or so of the championship clinching game in 2003. D-Rob was all smiles and high fives walking off the court and as Willis comes in for him he straps on the elbows pads like he's ready for battle in that last 30 seconds of the championship run. That's still one of my favorite Spurs moments of all time.

Yeah, I actually mentioned Jack Haley in the Sidney Green thread today. Jack Haley heads another category called "Human Towel". Fans gave an audible groan when the "Human Towel" was waved in.

Jack Haley was more than a victory cigar. He went into a playoff game and became an enforcer against that 5'9" dude for the Nuggets that looked like a sugar glider.

I remember the COPA COPA chants at the end of games, but I was always uncomfortable joining in because he was the only white guy on the team and it just felt kind of racist to me. :)

Zarko Paspaj. You knew it was done when that swarthy, drunken, cigarette inhaling piece of Eurotrash trotted onto the court at Hemisfair. You had to love a guy who ate fast food on the bench.

It has to be Mengke Bateer. For a Human Victory Cigar, it doesn't get much better than a 6'11'' Mongolian Center, who played in 12 games during the regular season, averaging 3.8 minutes per game, 0.8 points and 0.7 rebounds.
