Manu 20.8 pts 4.9 ats
Tony 19.4pts 7.7ats (career high)

and of course Timmy will be selected thanks to his status

What im saying is if the spurs keep playing like that our own big 3 will absolutely be all star game together, that would be the first time ever

no way in hell tony makes it. paul dwill, westbrook, nash, . so many options he will get left out. duncan will make it on reputation, probably voted in when shockingly gasol deserves it more. more ironic is both play center and are fowards.

Ginobili won't make it. Despite having the second highest PER among all shooting guards in the league - second only to kobe bryant and being arguably one of the top 5 SGs in the league right now - he's absolutely despised around the league. No non-spurs fan wants to see him in the game. He's boring to watch. He flops. That's just how he's perceived, so there's no way in hell he'll be voted into the game. The average fan probably thinks tracy mcgrady right now is more deserving to make the game than Ginobili. Nobody except for hardcore enthusiasts pay much attention to the NBA as a whole.

Coaches? They won't vote him in either. They didn't vote him in when he clearly deserved it in '07. What's changed between then and now?

I know people can tweak the positions every now and then to fit in truly deserving players (ex. Kobe being listed as PG when he and mcgrady ranked 1st and 2nd in all star voting man years back), but it probably won't help.

The only person from the Spurs going to the all star game is duncan (hopefully as a bench player given that Gasol deserves the starting position more than him). Be happy we'll have one player represented. Ginobili will forever be a 1 x All star even though he's far superior to many players in this league who have gone more than once (ex. Joe Johnson). It's laughable that someone like Joe Johnson is a 4x all star. Hilarious, really. Guy's the Rashard Lewis to Atlanta.

That would be awesome. But I don't think that will happen. Duncan will probably make it and Parker has a good chance of making it, but not sure at all. There is much competition. We'll see.

if the spurs stay so high in the rankings (1st-3rd) and the players maintain their level, we'll probably see at least two spurs. if the spurs are n°1 and keep winning at 90 %, then we could maybe see the whole big 3. i believe it at those conditions. nothing sure though considering the spurs aren't very hyped.

Let's talk about it in a few weeks...

Right now, of course the 3 COULD be selected, but either Manu or Tony will probably have a (even slight) drop off of their productions...

If Timmy is selected though, it can only by the coaches thanks to his status (except if all the chinese vote for him instead of an injured Yao...)

If the Spurs have the best record in the West, all three will make it, although Duncan will make it mainly on rep.

Lol, Laker Fan bitching about Duncan and forgetting about Kareem. Oh, wait, that's right, modern Laker Fan has no idea who Kareem is.

The Western Conference is stacked with guards...

Kobe/Paul are the starters for sure.

That leaves Deron Williams, Steve Nash, Monta Ellis, Russell Westbrook, Manu and Tony to share the remaining 3 spots (I think its 3 anyway) voted on by the coaches. Right now all are deserving of spots and part of me thinks Manu and Tony might split votes because its doubtful a coach would vote for both of them as most coaches try to spread votes among different teams so more teams are represented.

people dont think he is boring to watch. they just despise his flopping. that alone seems to take him out. and another thing is, he only plays 33 min so his numbers dont always stack up to other guys

I donīt think there is really a correlation with flopping/allstar votes.
For example, Nowitzki flops a lot, offensivelly the last years he has been along Wade among the most flopping players in the league. Yet both get a lot of votes.
Same for Gasol, who also flops a lot.

I didnīt see Manu flopping a lot since he hasnīt attacked the rim nearly as much as in 2005.

He getīs his points mainly on JS right now, and there is no flopping there unless you master the Nowitzki fadeaway-scream-foul shoot.

Manu is our best player. People love him around the world, he even gets more votes than Parker when it comes to ASG status. I don't think its enough to surpass Paul or Kobe though.

The West is weak on the wings. Besides that, if you take into account the calendar year (which coaches clearly do...for the non perennials, usually they have to build their way up to it), Ginobili has been, not only the Spurs best player, but one of the top few in the entire league. Even if his play slightly declines, he's a near lock at this point.

Duncan will make it whether he's voted to start or not. His stature in the game is such that even if his play doesn't merit it alone (it should, though, since Gasol and him are clearly the two best C's in the West), he'll still be a lock for at least this season and probably next.

Parker is the one who may get squeezed, which is ridiculous because he's probably been the Spurs best player this season. But the deepest West position is PG. Paul and Williams are locks. So it comes down to one of Nash, Parker or Westbrook, not making it. If Duncan and Gasol were listed as C's, this would be alleviated.

At this writing, it should be...

Starters: F- Anthony, Nowitzki, C- Gasol, G- Paul, Williams

Bench: F- Durant, Odom, C- Duncan, G- Bryant, Ginobili, Parker, Westbrook

Toughest omission: Nash. Suns mediocre record/missing a few games/West being loaded at PG, all hurt him.
