mavs play on road tonight so it was supposed to be a win for them to begin with. i'll not say they are stacked unless the beat the spurs again at AAC (not likely to happen though).

The Mavs need to do something about Bulter and JJ Barea. Dirk still needs a legit star next to him.

Chandler has been a very good pickup. Team has a togetherness and toughness it seems missing from past teams, but it's only November. Can't believe how stacked the West is this year: Lakers, Hornets, Jazz, Spurs, Thunder and Mavs are all top tier teams this year. Mavs are pretty good, and that may only be good enough for sixth in the West.

What's crazier is that Miami is not a top tier team right now.

tbh Jho>Butler

At least Ho would show up once out of every 4 games and would have the occasional drive and finish. Butler just shoots contested Jumpers and gets blocked when he tries to drive

Most Mavs fans know that. Butler is one of the oldest 30yr olds i've ever seen. Ok he's still better than Knee-Mac but that's about it. Don't be surprised to see him gone at the deadline.

Butler just can't drive anymore. He's not beating anyone off the dribble and his finishes at the rim are pathetic. He's done.

I would rather see more of him posting on spurstalk than playing NBA games on the court. dude sucks at playing basketball and would cost the game if played. its only an ominous sign suggesting the team has been suffering some severe injury blows when Cardinal plays, though his basketball knowledge is highly respectable said in all honesty.

I'd rather have Butler, at least he doesn't have a cancerous stench

Hopefully the return of Roddy B can make up for JJ's lack of production. As far as Caron... I like him but we may need to trade him for a better or at least a more consistent offensive option. I like him as a defender though.

I wouldn't. We are deeper and better at the 5 than we have ever been which anchors our good defense so far this year. Haywood is a very good back up center. Capable of starting though he is a bit inconsistent. Chandler shows up and hustles his ass off every night without fail. Alot people don't see him as a dominant center cuz he has not much of a post game but he rebounds and contests, alters, and blocks shots. Butler is a good defender, not a cancer, passionate, cooperative, just as good offensively, and a good defender. So when you look at what Butler and Haywood bring together, their value outweighs JHo's by a mile.

We gonna need Haywood. Chandler will be in foul trouble or injuried etc

I fear Dirk. I want the ball out of his hands every time he catches it, and I shout profanities every time he shoots it because I know it's going in.

No offense to the hornets, but I don't fear anybody on their team. Spurs merely need to hold a lead or stay close for 3 quarters. Who's going to show up in the 4th? Not CP3. He'll shy away and cower in fear like his usual self if these past handful of game are any indication of how he'll play in the 4th come Sunday.

The fact that Hornets fans are expecting to blow the spurs out this Sunday is laughable.

Son if those scrub jumpshooters around Dirk actually hit some shots in the playoffs then ppl would consider the Mavs an actual threat. Terry needs to actually play good for 2-3 games straight & Barea should be passing gatorade out.

I like Butler too, and I see that the team likes him as well. I can't complain too much. His knees are fucked, and has no where near the explosiveness he once had.

And Haywood, while a contract whore is still as good a back up center as you can find in the league. The money is not coming out of my pocket, and the Mavs are over luxury tax anyway so he's not restricting any flexibility. And there is no untradable contract in the league.

However, I wonder if Cuban is willing to take a further financial hit, and maybe call Atlanta to see how they like that Joe Johnson contract now. Too big a contract for a team not even close to serious contender. Wouldn't they be better off trying to offload it and try to rebuild. Or are they happy being truly average?

Terry can play well for most of the regular season but he catches Michael Finley syndrome during the playoffs and disappears. He is indeed extremely streaky.

Good win for the Mavs, but looking a bit deeper there should be some concern.

The only reason I hate Dirk is because he doesn't play for SA. Every time he shoots I cringe. He can't do it alone though, we know this. My question is how long he's going to last at this pace and/or how long it's going to take Cuban to realize that he's essentially got a one man gang.

Dirk should be in the MVP discussion.. hes carrying a 11-4 team.

I can't really fathom why he's not.

mavs still hold perfect records against divisional rivals i believe (or at least the best records against own-division teams among all the 5 teams this division), hence the Mavs are indeed the best team in the southwest division in that regard, not the Hornets nor Spurs despite their overall records are a bit better.

That's not true. The Mavs have lost two games in the division. I believe they're 2-2 overall. Hornets are 3-1 in the division. Spurs have two losses in the division as well.
