Aw man. I know he was up there in age but this makes me sad. I really enjoyed his movies and straight-face buffoon style of comedy. This sucks. :(

Well, when I see five weirdos, dressed in togas, stabbing a man in the middle of the park in full view of a hundred people, I shoot the bastards, that's MY policy!

Was just about to post this.
84-years-old and still seems like he was taken away too early. That's when you know you've made a mark. Legend.
Some of my first and best memories as a kid came about because of The Naked Gun. :depressed
I say the judge should order OJ out of jail so he can give Leslie a proper tribute. Allow him to re-make that wheelchair scene to end the first Naked Gun without a stunt double, dummy or net.
Here's to launching Nordberg, and Mr. Leslie "Lt. Frank Drebin" Nielsen. :toast
RIP

Just the other day I was in a bar discussing his movies. Couldn't stop laughing at the part when they ate so many sunflower seeds they had a hard time opening their car door on a stake out. Also the 2 rubber people fucking in life size condoms and the camera moving to the 2 huge condom wrapers was a classic. :lmao He will be missed.

The last good pure sci-fi film before Kubricks 2001 made them all look like child's play.
R.I.P Leslie,we're all counting you.

The man was a legend plain and simple. When he was the umpire in Naked Gun, that had to be some of the funniest shit I have ever seen.
In the NLCS when the umpire called the third strike to send the Giants to the series, his call reminded me of Leslie Nielsen.

In 1956, Forbidden Planet was in color, other sci-fi were b/2, and even into the 60s, main stream films were b/w.
For 1956, with no digital video, the special effects were mesmerizing.
