Not a rumor or anything

I'm just wondering if it's a possibility

Riley said that he felt too old for coaching, and JVG used to be Riles's assistant coach

He is a proven defensive head coach in the NBA, and the players will respect him (he did coach the Knicks).

However, does his contract with ESPN prevent him from leaving during the season?

It could work, I suggested that on the other thread. Great thing about JVG is he has a great sense of humor, has great understanding of the game and he also doesn't care about his players feelings when things get gritty.

The problem with Spo is he tries too hard to manage the egos particularly that of Lebron and you can't just do that to him when your resume consists of 1st round exits.

No harm done lefty, I'm sure JVG's name gets thrown out there by a lot of people too. I really can't think of any other high profile coach available to replace Spo.

Wasn't JVG the one that said this team would easily beat the Bull's record? :rolleyes

He forgot to add " IF I get to coach them "

I would be delighted to take this job. Out of all the teams I've coached, I never had a duo like Dwyane Wade and Lebron James. It is going to be interesting coaching these guys and develop team chemistry.

I would teach Chris Bosh how to play in the post like I did with Yao when I was in Houston. However, I will not buy into this "chill" crap. We have to understand championship pedigree teams do not "chill". Most of these teams are hungry and want to be the best team in the league.

This would be pretty interesting.

its not that he is too old. he just doesnt want to take over something thats not ready. he will let them marinate more and come back when its ready to come out of the oven and take the credit.

ESPN have partnership wit miami so it shouldn't be a problem.

Lebron, at this stage of his career, is not coachable.

cHeat needs better defense so it's understandable they are seeking a defensive specialist right now. riley is old anyway so they have to search a replacement sooner or later.
