BRAZILIAN HONORS: Tiago Splitter has been named the “Best Basketball Player of the Year” by the C.O.B. (Brazilian Olympic Committee). The award, now in its 12th year, recognizes the top athlete in each of the 42 Olympic disciplines. This past summer, Splitter averaged 12.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists on the Brazilian national team at the 2010 FIBA World Championships.
KONEX AWARD: In mid-November, Manu Ginobili received the 2010 Konex Award of Light, which is the highest honor given by the Konex Foundation, based on his professional basketball accomplishments over the past decade.
